Comment:

I had him for lab. He's super knowledgeable and ready to help at any point in class. There's a weekly post-lab and quiz. The post-labs are relatively easy but the quizzes can get tough. During the labs, Kevin provided lots of help to those who needed it and was always ready to share his extensive knowledge of biology. Highly recommend.

Comment:

He's tough, but I'd take him again! Because he cares and is trying to solidly carry the torch of science forward. He seemed bored with the material having to teach to curriculum, and lectures very fast. Read the book, and anything else you can to reinforce the large vocab, concepts. Tests are abstract and designed for maximum difficulty!

I overall liked Kevin. He is a sweet person and is always willing to answer questions if asked. The class is hard if you aren't someone who enjoys science. Study very hard for your midterms/final if bio doesn't come naturally to you. The labs are very fun. Do the hw and expect somewhat dry lectures.

Kevin is very passionate about biology and really makes sure the concepts are understood before moving on. He has ways of asking a question several ways to see if the idea is really grasped by his students. He is enthusiastic and stays up to date in his field.

I enjoyed the class. The teacher was fine, organized, and knowledgeable. I just wish grading was more timely. Tough grader. Everything is posted online so you can review it at any time.

I really enjoyed the biology 141 lectures, Kevin was passionate about ecology and environmental issues and was really knowledgeable about answering questions. It was a challenging class but all of the questions on the tests were in the PowerPoints which he posted online or in the textbook and he graded on a curve. I would take amother class!

Kevin was a very passionate professor and totally knew what he was talking about. Very caring and willing to help his students. He was a great professor and I wish I could say the class was the same, but science has always been a struggle! Get ready to study and memorize, but if you have to take biology, take it with Kevin!

Kevin is passionate about Biology. He is a great professor. Always answers questions, even if they have been asked a dozen times. His exams are on the hard side, even with studying and reading the book. I would take him again. He cares and wants you to get it. If you have the chance, take him. I've taken 3 of his classes and thoroughly enjoyed each

Kevin is a good person but his class was way beyond hard. I may underestimate BI112 class but I found it super tough. I never tensioned for any class in my life. He go a lot of miles to help the students but still his tests(3 tests) was so hard(if he doesnt curve the class i'm sure half of the class fail. he give assignments and homeworks to help.

I did not have Lien for lecture but I did have him for lab. He would go through each lab with class before the procedure so you knew what we were doing that day. Ask questions because he will answer them. Tests and post labs are on the harder side of things. He expects you to have read the following week lab for current week quiz! Highly recommend.

I'm not sure how he is as a lecture professor, but as a lab professor, he was pretty good. Reviewed everything to ensure understanding, and the quizzes at the start of each class were easy points. Pretty easy to approach if you need help with anything. Just be sure to pay attention, as he often calls on people during the review.

Kevin is a great teacher. Though he can be rather complex with his use of scientific terms/names, he is very helpful and wants you to do well. He is not an easy professor by any means... meaning if you want an A, you must study. He does offer a few extra credit opportunities as well. Great professor!

Kevin is a great teacher; really excited about micro! BE WARNED: Only take the class if you have a decent foundation in gen. biology & chemistry. A&P background won't get you anywhere. If you don't have that background, be prepared to study your butt off and squeak by with a 'C.' VERY HARD! Side note: Easy to cheat but lots of info to choose from.
