She gave easy quizzes and Gen chem 1 isnt that hard as long as you did well in high school chemistry you have the first half of the course, she a little strange but likable. Ask her about her dogs. I barely showed up for class and slept through the ones I was there for and still got an A so shes not bad at all.

The class was relatively hard with all the pH material and kinetics and stuff, but I felt that she gave really good examples and was always willing to help when if I went to her office.

She is a mess. Doesn't really understand her own material she is teaching. Flies through difficult concepts and spends a half hr teaching easy topics as if she's talking to a 2nd grader. Notes handed out in class are useless. You never know what is going to be on tests/ focus of the test. Doesn't follow syllabus. Not very helpful when approached.

I had Dr. Broekemeier for Chemistry for Engineers last Spring. I can say without a doubt in my mind that it was easily the most disorganized learning experience I have ever been a part of. She makes many mistakes during class when working out problems. Her tests are based off of minor details that she breezes over in class. Avoid her.

I have taken her for 2 quarters now and now learned a single thing from her. Absolutely horrible. Unfortunately you can't see whose class you're signing up for anymore so just hope you don't get stuck with her.

This class is a mess - Dr. Broekemeier is completely scatter brained and is constantly making mistakes in her notes, quizzes, and exams. Chem 172 is a hard class no matter who it's with, but she was a horrible teacher. If you can teach yourself chem, take her, if not, avoid her.

Comment:

Dr. Broekemeier is one of the better Chem professors at ONU. While she does make a few mistakes in her notes, the examples she gives are exactly what you need for the Quizzes and Tests, making them a lot easier than they would be for other teachers. I've taken Bates and Lamb, but I got my highest grade with Dr. Broekemeier.

confusing as hell. last spring, she always talked to the board with her back to the class so it was hard to interpret her mumbling...and she made a LOT of mistakes or got her notes out of order and then had to backtrack...i would try for another prof if possible

Pretty good teacher. She's very nice and helpful. Most of the notes and examples are exactly what you will need for quizzes and exams. It's not a real easy course though. I would/am taking her again.

she's a nice gal and funny...but a little absent minded...she makes too many mistakes...however..it's hilarious when she does..and she doesn't take attendence..so you can skip..but i wouldn't recommend it..cuz her quizzes and tests are hard...they are so ANAL!

Very nice professor, but its chemistry. Its not the easiest or most exciting course. You just have to study and do the homework, and you will do fairly well. She makes some mistakes while writing on the board b/c she tries to hurry.
