I took this professor at Agnes Scott for European History on Film. Most the of the work is done outside class with only two essays (midterm & final). The in class participation is mostly context for and discussion on the films. The biggest issue was there no clear grading criteria outlined in the syllabus for assignments.

I recommend talking to him in office hours if you are struggling. You can work something out. He's woke and he won't ignore what you have to say. If you give him your papers a week ahead, you can also get some good feedback. Talks a lot, but invites group discussion. Class is pretty casual so long as you always do the readings and go to class.
