I am so glad I got the chance to have Dr. Kanter as a professor. For WGS 180, we read fabulous books and the class was basically entirely discussion based. She has very specific rules for writing, but once you get in the hang of her grading you'll be fine. She outwardly cares for her students and I would take her again for another class.

Dr. Kanter is a difficult professor, but she will teach you a great deal. Be sure to do the readings, and put your best effort into all writing assignments. Don't let her intimidate you; her in-class persona is different from her out-of-class persona.

Do not take this professor. The material itself is not hard, but she is a terrible teacher. She is incredible picky about things that have nothing to do with the class. Also, she is very conceited and rude. I was really excited about this subject because I find sociology very interesting but now I absolutely hate it.

Follow the rules for writing in this class and make sure to do the reading. Dr. Kanter is incredibly intelligent and fun to talk to. She will make you work for your grade, but she is fair.

I've taken Dr. Kanter numerous times. Although I respect her intelligence, I do not enjoy her as a professor. She is frequently grumpy, rude, and unapproachable. Her expectations are not always clear either. Although informative, her lectures are very boring.

Each semester she hands out a "Rules for Writing" handout, which consists of numerous anal and specific guidelines that must strictly be adhered to. Sometimes it seems like she is more interested in the structure of our work than the actual content, which is annoying. She's brilliant, but her classes are always painfully dull. Not recommended.

I've had her for many classes. She is extremely intelligent and won't lie about that fact. She'll call you out if you're wrong, but you'll also learn a lot from her. She may get off topic during lectures. The level of work is reasonable. Her tests and paper grading are on the difficult side. I love her.

Not the greatest teacher, but also not the worst. Her lectures will ramble all over the place and put you to sleep. Just make sure you do the reading and know what's in the book and it should be an easy A.

This professor leads discussion and demands that we talk, but does not give us a chance. She scolds students rudely and in front of the entire class, and does not give any prior warning that you are doing anything wrong. I would not recommend taking her for any course.

I'm in the class the other user commented about on 3/20, and the student wasn't offering an opinion. He just wanted to share a riddle that had NOTHING to do with bioethics. The Capstone class is a real chore, but it's not her fault. Capstone classes tend to throw you in a group of peers you've been avoiding for 4 years. She's expects a lot & that's

She's a sociology professor teaching a course in bioethics. Even though it's a seminar, she hijacks the discussion. She once refused to let a student demonstrate an opinion different from her own until the class practically begged her to let him. I don't recommend her for Senior Capstone.

Dr. Kanter really knows her stuff and tries hard so the class will too. She is very passionate about Sociology. Shecan be so witty at times, so expect to laugh once in a while. Lot of reading and writing, but that's what college is about! Don't come to class unprepared though. You'll see the wrath of Dr. Kanter, which isn't good!

This class was retarted. Sometimes she would yell for no reason. It was so boring, I don't know how I got through that semester with her. She would not go over all that the test was on. You talk about crap in class that's not always gonna be on the test. The material was interesting be sure was not. You definately have to read the material.

Dr. Kanter is an extremely hard professor, but she is also extremely fair. She will brook no tomfoolery in her classroom. That being said, she's also downright hilarious if you're in the right mindset. Also, she will bust her can to help you. A+++++++
