you'll listen to creepy weird personal stories, rants for 45 min, insufficient materials/ equipment or proper instruction. If you label your shelf, he'll rip the label off. If you signup for cooking, people will ignore it, and he won?t help. He pits one student against another and creates an atmosphere of paranoia and fear.DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.

I won't lie, Leroy is an interesting guy, but as a teacher I feel like he's lacking. I honestly learned more about him and his personal life than I did about the actual anatomy of the human body. For a man who let's you know he has tenure and that he's making lots of money, I felt like he wasted mine.

Leroy is interested in self agrandization not teaching. Class splits in 2, those who worship him like he needs & everybody else. Direct quote "I dont give out assignments because state students arent that good and dont care about their work." "Boy we get a lot more drawings done went I dont take a long lunch." Avoid, this class. Let him retire.

Vivacious and active teacher. If you need help or clarification he will come over and help you out. Don't be surprised if he draws on your paper, but it really helps when he is trying to show you how to curve a figure. Loved his class, where you can just sit down and study models organically instead of making the human body into boxes.

An odd instructor, but an interesting man. For class, he would be there sometimes and somtimes not. Favored those who totally work their butt off, but who wouldn't. Too many students for such a small room, and such large projects. The course is not as easy as it would seem. If you have the TIME&EFFORT then give it a shot, other wise...

He is a bad teacher, but good stories teller. He wasted lecture/class time telling his personal stories a lot. This guy really value quantity over quality, and vanish from the classroom a lot. His demo schedules are really random. His critiques are not beneficial. His grading technique is not clear. avoid his class if you can.

Leroy is hilarious. He's very open minded and recognizes bullcrap when he sees it. He kinda has a split personality, so don't tick him off. He can also give u good advice about the other fields (animation,design).

He is semi-easy and he does not really expect anything much from a student other than drawing models and how to express and study from it. He will only be specific about something if you ask him yourself. He was not very informative about the techniques needed to be used and he usually left the classroom.

This instructor knows his human anatomy!! And expects his students to learn it as well. Though you will not be tested on the names of the bones and muscles, he will teach you to find them and draw them. He is very helpful WHEN ASKED. The mid-term project (old master's study)is very demanding and informative. Few students receive A's from him.

i took paper making, water color, and figure drawing with him. p/m class turned out to be hell. u gotta make 50 sheets of paper. not enough space in class room, so u have to make your own little sweat shop at home. Water color class,,,, yes lots of painting. Lots and lots. He needs to put down his guitar and teach us at some point.

I love Leroy's energy and enthusiasum. He is getting a hot from me for not being afraid to show who he is in such a colorful way. You'll see what I mean when you meet him. He is a great person and I enjoy his class every time I take it! If you are too pc or have no sense of humor then he wouldn't be the right proff. for you. HE'S GREAT!!!

A life drawing instructor who has VERY HIGH expectations of his students. This is good, as I haven't felt so challenged in life drawing in awhile. As other's mentioned, his teaching style is very "loose", but if you approach him for help he is really helpful. Teaches a good process.

I don't appreciate the manner with which Leroy sometimes presents himself. He has been known to say things like "I represent the highest intellegence in this classroom. NO ONE has the right to even insinuate that I have to ask to draw on their drawing." Very egotistical. Goes off on HUGE tangents.

leroy is awesome! if you want to do BIG figure drawings, take his life drawing class. he doesn't like you work in a sketchbook. if you need to talk to him about something, don't try and do it as he is going into class.. it "messes up his groove"

Comment:

You really have to work hard to get good at figure drawing. He's kind of hard to please. He's a nice person but strange. Most of the work is just inclass but occassionally he assigns outside work. Very creative, insightful, tallented, and strange teacher.
