I love Dr. Lillian. Her enthusiasm for the subject is made very apparent, which makes for a very charming lecture. She hints on what will be on the exams, so either go to class or watch the lectures online. The exams are true and false, image IDs, and two essays. The essays initially seemed intimidating, but she tells you what might be tested.

A fair amount of studying but not impossible! Her lectures seem long but aren't boring.

Probably the hardest class I have ever taken in college. You do not need the book for class. Attendance is mandatory. Do not take a class with this professor. She is an inconsistent and tough grader. Wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.

Dr. Joyce is enthusiastic about what she teaches, and she truly cares for students' success. Still, this is the toughest class I've ever had. There are no small assignments to carry you through, just three GARGANTUAN exams and one strictly-graded paper. Watching and re-watching all her lectures is how you'll succeed.

She gives great lectures, cares about students, and is very knowledgeable about the subject, but does not treat the class like ARH100 more like ARH200. Do not take her if you just want to get an elective out of the way. She has some extra credit opportunities, but it is very hard to get an A in this class.

Dr. Joyce is very passionate about art history. She is very professional and well organized. She can seem intimidating, but is actually easy to approach, talk to, and ask for help. Attendance is key, bc she is more informative than the book; she gives you study guides, so if you show up, take good notes, and study what she says to, you'll be fine.

You cannot take the class and hope to just remember the pictures of architecture and pass. you will pass the quizes which will only worth 10% of the final grade but you will not pass the total of 3 test. Go to class and listen to her talk about the historical background and architecture features and know the pictures and you will pass.

Very passionate about art history & inspiring, has extensive knowledge about everything she discussed. Does not post class powerpoints, just pictures. Wants you to be able to discuss all topics, in class & on exams. Term paper takes all semester, but is willing to help from start to finish. Happily answered my frantic 10 p.m. emails about citation.

I took this class because it was required; 12 years later still highly value her enthusiasm & emphasis on familywomen. She is awesome! I bought TWO textbooks; one textbook was for classstudying. The other was to cut out all the pictures we studied in class and to tape them on my wall. After each class, I updated my taped pictures with notes.

Professor Joyce is an excellent teacher who not only teaches art history but creates an appreciation for it. She is also very compassionate and helped me throughout the class as I dealt with family issues and home damage from severe weather. Professor Joyce's class requires attentiveness and work but you learn so much and she genuinely cares.

She works poorly with students who have disabilities especially ones that involve writing including dyslexia and ADHD. She is a perfectionist when it comes to her students writing essays, which makes it impossible for any student with a writing disorder to earn an A no matter how much they know. I don't remember the number of the course.

This class, and it's subject was overall interesting. I can't look at another piece of architecture without picking it apart piece by piece in my head. However, Dr. Joyce had a way of being bone dry when presenting. Her exams are not for the faint of heart. She also doesn't give documents via Angel in a format that is easily accessible. Not impressed.

Read, listen and follow her directions and study guides and you should pass. She does allow for extra credit if you attend certain lectures. Extremely easy to talk to, even if she seems unapproachable... which she is not.

She's a very challenging educator to work with both intimidating and hard to approach but damn good at what she does. YOU MUST STUDY the material if you wish to even remotely survive this class. The material is what makes it so difficult and this is easily remedied through rehearsal. A paper and museum visit easily cracked out in a day. Don't wait!

Since I've taken one of her classes before, I was prepared for the challenging exams. There is NO way to get a A or B in this class without studying and doing lots of it. However, her lectures are informative and she goes over everything you need to know for the exam. Bottom line: Go to class, stay awake, and study. You'll do fine. Plus, she's hot.

This was my 2nd class taken with Dr. Joyce. I was lucky to know what she expected. She's very tough and competes with your mental capacity as a student. When taking her exams, you will literally be dumping everything you can possibly hold in your brain onto the paper. Be prepared. Be VERY prepared. I would take her again, definitely.

My only problem with her was that she seemed incapable of ending class on time; we went over 5-19 minutes every day. Other than that, good teacher who makes the subject interesting.

I believe she was extremely clear in her lectures and included many facts... not so much issues. It's actually a break from critical thinking because all you do is take notes, listen, read a little (if you choose to and is recommended for a higher grade) and then recite back onto her exams what she's already told you. Easy if you take the time.
