Professor Lachs' lectures are good. He breaks it down, but it is extremely hard material. I got a good grade, but only because I stayed focused because it was a summer coarse. Book is MANDATORY. You will need it- do yourself a favor- read, read, read.

you will need the book; (free)just download it! I went to every class and still found the material difficult to memorize. He is a very caring man but, with that being said strictly by the book what you put into it is all you will get and extra credit is also an effort. maybe 4 quizes (10 timed using iclicker ) exams are 50 questions multiple choice

You will need the book. The grade depended on quizzes and exams. It is a psychology class, but it is more of a science class. Exams are 75 questions and you are allowed 50 minutes 49 seconds a question!! The material is not easy!! Almost $3oo book is needed, you will not pass the class without it.

tough class but a great professor. The type you want to create a relationship with because he truly cares about his students and will try his best to make sure everyone is on the same page!

Comment:

Lachs is a very good professor. Attendance was not mandatory, but you skip a class and miss lots of information. You don't have to read the book since he goes over the same material in class, but recommend if you want to do good on exams and surprise pop quizzes. Lectures are interesting and take notes. Not a difficult class or instructor.

Took the online summer 3 week class. It was a lot of reading and studying but still a manageable class. I wasn't as interested towards the end as I thought I would be. But I would still recommend his class. Just stay on top of the work and you will be fine.

Amazing professor! He made a class that could easily become overwhelming, easy and enjoyable. He goes over everything until he's sure everyone understands and always makes an attempt to make his lectures interesting with corny jokes and stories. Actually cares about how his students and how he can make things easier to understand.

Professor Lachs is awesome. He presents the material so that it is easily understood. His lectures are very interesting. Will definitely go over anything you dont get. 4exams 4quizes no papers. Quizzes are 10 questions but 40 points so make sure you study!

Lachs was fantastic. The class is a tough class but he does a great job of explaining and keeps lectures interesting/entertaining. There were 4 quiz's, & 4 exams that are multiple choice with one essay question. Final exam is not comprehensive which is nice. No paper and he gives a few EC opportunities. Tough but very interesting. Recommended!

Dr. Lachs is by far the best lecturer I have taken at Fresno State. He uses iClickers for quizzes and during class to see if he can go on to the next topic and always takes time to explain things if less than 80% of the class understands it. 4 exams with a short answer portion. He gives you all short answer questions (usually 4) with the answers.

Dr. Lachs is a great instructor! He made the material interesting and always asks to make sure the class is understanding. If you need this class, make sure to take it with him and you will not regret it. Just ask questions, and study and you will do good. 3 exams, one term paper, a couple pop quizzes, and few other easy assignments.

Took this class online as a requirement and was stressed about it being only a 3 week class. The material is difficult but the class is interesting. I stayed on top of my work and got an A. He gave us plenty of "attempts" at quizzes and exams to get a good grade in the class. Definitely don't be scared of this "intersession" or summer course.

Loved Dr. Lachs!!Content is difficult but everything is explained in lecture. Tests have an essay question that is chose from a study guide. Final grade is made up of 4 exams and 4 quizzes so studying is a must. Anatomy and physio back ground will help and there is extra credit. You will learn a lot of cool stuff. Definitely recommend this course

Warned us about the difficulty in this class, which it was. But his lectures are exactly what is on the exam, there won't be any surprises. In lecture he also takes poles to see where the class stands on understanding which is amazing because if the majority doesn't comprehend he breaks it down step by step. It's very clear how much he cares.

Great Professor! Hard class, so expect to study, but he makes his lectures entertaining. More of memorizing anatomical parts and functions. No papers, and gives you the essay question he will use on the tests! Don't underestimate the amount of work. Plus I should have gotten a B but extra credit and showed up for class almost everyday got me an A

You will have to work to get a good grade in this class. Lectures help. He explains everything as many times as needed for everyone to understand. Plus he does funny dad joke moments that may be the best part of going to class. Sensation & Perception is a hard class, but you feel so accomplished when you understand it.
