Hes an extremely nice and helpful professor. He pretty much gives you definintion sheets on whats going to been on the tests. Theres three tests and one paper (he announces the paper a couple weeks before so you have enough time to do it). I plan on taking him again for criminology

Comment:

I had him for Criminology. Really nice guy. He has a dry lecture style, but he's always accessible outside of class. Gives so many extra credit opportunities. I neglected to an important essay, and he gave me an incomplete instead of an F. I completed the essay and was able to get an A in the class. Definitely take him.

TAKE HIM! Extra credit is built into everything. Three tests are extremely difficult to fail.. He gives you a study guide and if you're able to give a brief definition of each topic you'll be fine. Essay is based on a social situation and if you use definitions/ terms he's spoken about he'll throw extra credit points in.

Easiest class ive taken at Ncc thanks to prof. Hallowel. Just pay attention in class and it will be literally impossible to fail, if you can give a brief definition of the topics on his review sheets then you basically know all the answers to the test he'll give at the end of each unit.

He is the best!! Gives you a sheet on exactly whats going to be on the test and what his extra credit questions are going to be. Study the review sheet and its an easy A. If you just study the terms he gives you on the review sheets the tests will be a breeze. Very nice professor and understands his students. I would definitely take him again!

Comment:

Hes a very nice teacher but his tests are really hard, most of the class gets bad grades. His tests are half his lectures and half your reading. Study hard, he gives lota of extra credit though and he gives two assignments, the one averages into your midterm which saved my grade.

His class is not bad at all. He actually cares about his students. The amount of extra credit he gives on assignments and essay tests is crazy. I did not open my textbook once all semester and have a 98 in the class. Study the essay themes he gives out and just write everything. Its an easy A if you do extra credits. two papers aren't bad

He's so incredibly boring and dull. He's quiet so he's hard to hear. If you don't at least skim the text book then you're not gonna pass because only of what's on the tests will be spoken about in class. Not very clear in class what we need to know and what we don't need to know. Everyone's always on their phones and bored to tears.

Lectures are rather boring but the professor is a great! Guy always willing to help in any way possible. He is also the director of the dept. if you have any issues regarding attendance or even a late paper speak with him he will work it out

Such a nice profesor. Had the online class and did very well, i even missed the midterm and the professor was very nice about rescheduling it. Just a very nice man, but dont buy the text book, just watch the videos and use common sense.

Im a criminal justice major and figured taking a criminology class would be an easy A for me. Not with this professor! Classes were extremely boring and nothing he taught had anything to do with his tests. He assigned a paper that i had already written on the same topic in a previous class (which i recieved an A on) and he gave me a D.. just run!

He is a horrible teacher. He is very smart but doesn't know how to teach what he knows. He doesn't talk about anything that is in the text. his lectures make no sense and most of what he talks about has nothing to do with the text or the class. His tests are impossible and you have essays for every test and 2 for the semester. DON'T TAKE HIM!!

Excellent professor. While the class is hard, he always provides help and makes it clear and interesting. Sometimes he is very funny, and he gives study guides before tests. I recommend him.
