I have taken her for all 4 readings but she isnt a great teacher. I never learned any of the basics. She is really bad at explaining assignments. She grades fast but there is no gradebook for us to keep track of. Must be there every class. Books from the prior classes needed. you will do BRI, group teaches, instruct plans. Takes points off for alot

This class has ALOT of work. I learned so much, but I really had to work for it. The books for the class can be very helplful. Ptofessor lynn is very nice, understanding, and helpful. She is always there to answer questions

Comment:

She gives you 100 on assignments as long as you elaborate and try your best. Extra credit points for early work. Assignments are easy: shared reading lesson plan (Teach it to kids), instructional plan, literacy assessments, and a few other easy assignments. Shes nice and willing to help all her students. She goes over assignments in class.

She is very nice and understanding but you won't learn much in this class. There was a total of 13 assignments and she spent the entire class just explaining the assignments. She gives extra credit for turning assignments early and is an easy grader.

Professor Lynn is very nice. I feel like she isn't the best at explaining all the time, but I still learned alot. She reviews the assignments in class and basically gives the answers out. There are 6 journals, a midterm (Gives answers), final, and like 4 other assignments. Elaborate on your work and you get the A. No textbook and lots of xtra credi

I loved Professor Yribarren as a person. She is super sweet and nice. For this class it's mandatory to go, you have to be prepared each class to tutor your student. She is very flexible with the other assignments in terms of turning them in which can catch up to get you if you procrastinate. Grades are not provided through semester.

Coming from a straight A student about to graduate. Worst professor I've had since I started college. It's almost the end of the semester and I still have no idea what her class is about. She doesn't teach anything, she only explains assignments. NEVER REPLIES EMAILS. 74 so far in the class and I have only missed one class & have done all the work!

She is good at what she does! Nevertheless you have to work so hard to do well. Very tough grader! Beware. Just stay on top of everything because you will fall behind. Go to class too because explains things in detailed to help you do the assignments. You will be lost without it. You do learn though, and she wants to help!

She is very clear in her lectures and she goes over the rubric. Be sure you come to class so that you can understand the content, because it is very easy to fall behind. She is also very nice and willing to assist you in redoing assignments or getting early points and feedback for lesson plans. I will be taking her for a third time next year.

Love love love Dr. Yribarren. Amazing woman and really wants everyone to understand the material for their own benefit. I took her for the first RED and she was just as awesome! She explains all the assignments and will even help everyone do it in class!

Summer A class. LOTS of assignments but I was able to manage them without a problem. Extended assignments so we had more time to finish. Cut off some of the assignments since we only had 6 weeks. She is very sweet and understanding. She will explain over and over an assignment until you understand. Gives extra credit for assignments turned in early

This class was a definite game changer. There are a lot of assignments and it does get stressful but Dr. Yribarren makes it manageable. She goes step by step and helps you in any way. You are tutoring a student, so it is important to go to class. She does not provide much feedback though. But, overall I enjoyed how Yribarren conducted the class.

I LOVE professor Yribarren and I also wish I had taken her for all reading courses. This class is very tedious and time consuming and that throws people off. I believe Yribarren is the best reading professor at FIU. Approach her with any question and she will answer it. DO NOT fall behind in this class and you will be fine.

I wish I took this teacher for all of the reading classes. At first I did not understand the assignments, but she helped me every day until I understood exactly what was to be done. I also learned a lot about teaching, and I feel prepared for student teaching. Yes, the class is hard, but she will help you until you get it. Take advantage of that!

This is the 2nd reading and the 2nd time I take her. There is a lot of work, but it comes with the course. She really has her students best interest at heart. She is a big sweetheart, a little all over the place, but she is always trying to help her students in every way she can. She gives extra points where points are due and is always available!

I absolutely LOVE her! She explains her assignments in depth, answers all questions to the best of her ability. She gives extra points for early assignments and is extremely helpful. While she is an amazing teacher, she will mark up your paper like never before with corrections. She is a great teacher and she will be the only teacher I take!

Overall, professor Yribarren is a very nice lady and she really loves her field however, I must say that she is not very clear in her expectations of assignments. She contradicts her self sometimes and she is very picky with how she grades. I received a good grade in this class in part because I saved explanations from my precious Reading Professor

HORRIBLE! Do not take her. She is all over the place. She has no idea which reading she is teaching since she's teaching all of the reading's this semester. She is NO help at all whatsoever plus she is EXTREMELY VAGUE with all of her answers. At the end of the semester there were only 6 of us left in the class out of 35 students that says a lot.
