Jana wasn't interested in anything you have to say if you can't prove yourself to be a liberal. She disliked her students at Wash. U in general and was known to have called us "a bunch of rich spoiled brats" without ever bothering to get to know any of us (and no many of us didn't have a lot of money). Her design studio was worthless.

Comment:

Jana can be very condescending but can be helpful if you establish a good rapport with her. Otherwise, you are pretty much on your own. She didn't enjoy teaching students at Wash U. I remember her comment that Wash U. students are a bunch of "talentless rich spoiled brats". I am surprised she is still teaching there.

Jana is amazing. Was scared of her at first, but she is very helpful in most cases and is very friendly once you develop a rapport with her. Poses many good questions to help you develop projects and is a good foil to Gay's brand of architecutre criticism.

Can be a bit of a snob, but generally is helpful and clear. Sometimes dismissive of the unconventional (anything that she hasn't heard of before)... closeminded or insecure?
