she doesnt return papers until the last minute before finals so you can't revise or learn what she is looking for in a good paper before you have to turn in your next paper. when asked about the prompt for a paper she said she would email it to us but never did and still had us turn in a paper. decides to tell you what you needed to have after.

The only professor I ever had who said, "The more you write the better b/c you'll have a better chance of getting what I'm looking for." She asked for 2 analysis papers but really wanted fluff. Make sure you know what she wants from the paper.

Marilyn is one of the most intelligent people I've ever met and an excellent professor.I agree that she seems "standoffish" at first (actually I was horrified by her at first),but anyone who is willing to put forth the effort will get a REALLY rewarding learning experience out of any of her classes
