Mecke Nagel is a professor whom I have had twice now. In my life, I had never come across such a wonderful, inspiring, caring woman. She really gives you so much room to explore with your essay topics and assignments. She likes to know what youre interested in. Awesome teacher, if I could have her every semester I would.

Comment:

She is one of the smartest people I've ever met. She encouraged me when I was writing and was a VERY generous grader. The only assignments were half of the final paper due at midterm, then finish it for the final, and a group project. I love the content of her classes. If you are interested in Feminism and/or Philosophy you can't go wrong with her.

Dr. Nagel is one of the nicest professors I've ever met. She is always willing to help and is very easy to talk to. She is knowledgable, open minded, and gives amazing feedback if you are willing to listen. I would love to take more classes with her in the future.

Very nice lady, extremely approachable, always willing to help you out. If you know something about philosophy before taking her class, she will like you. Her accent is sometimes hard to decifer, but the class is worth it anyways.

horrible class, there are no tests just journal assigments but its 2 pages a week about the reading which is usually boring, 30 hours of community service required, DO NOT TAKE AS A FRESHMAN WITHOUT A CAR unless you feel like walking in the cold to do community service

Prisons and Punishment sounds like it would be a cool class but all she does is make excuses for criminals and talk about how bias soceity is. If you say any different she gives you funny looks. Don't take this class or this professor!!!!

A very good teacher. Encourages stimulating class discussions. The syllabus is um, loose so it's important to pay attention! Missing class or coming late is a no-no. For one thing, you will miss too much! Every class is a class worth coming for. Not a class for slackers. This IS a 300 level class, after all.

very nice woman, helpful and caring. knows her topics and knows how to get reactions to make the class interesting while still teaching. Clear about class expectations, but will help you out if you really need it. Awesome lady.

All in all, she's not a bad person, but I definitely agree that she is very forceful with her opinions sometimes. Although, I think that she might exaggerate it a little bit to get more opinions out of the class. The class is pretty easy, and I'd recommend it, because I have gotten a lot out of it.

Although she has questionalable fashion sense she is an excellent professor in her field. She assings difficult readings and requires several papers on those readings, paying attention and contributing class discussion can remedy that. In her intro to Philosophy class she is judging your ability to think philoshopically which is both good and bad

She's a great person to teach the class because she has so many alternate views, yet still listens and learns from us, and alters what she thinks according to what she hears. Definitely recommend this class, its a lot of fun, even tho a bit of work. no extreme amount tho. good fun
