She basically throws you off a cliff with the API stuff on day 1. I did well because I was in her office with questions all the time. Participate in class and take advantage of the resources she provides and you should be fine.

Comment:

Never felt worse about myself or my abilities than when I was in this class. One of the first things she told me was that I was the worst in the class. She will openly talk about your personal business in class. She will constantly put you on the spot, so you better be ready to participate. Still trying to avoid her but she teaches everything!

She did not teach a class all semester. Each student gave a brief presentation on part of the assigned reading every class, and it was very difficult to comprehend the information. She is VERY rude and discouraging with feedback, and told 3 students they were the worst in the class. She compares everything to how hard she worked for her doctorate.

I've had Metka for other classes and this class was by far the worst class I have EVER taken in college. TOUGH grader, but wants you to live up to your potential. You will have to work HARD to get a good grade. Her grade for a "decent" paper is a midhigh C. DON'T take her class if you are not willing to put forth a TON of effort and probably cry.

If you want easy, take a different class. FR 331 was the hardest class I've ever taken, but I learned SO much. In the beginning, I really thought I would end up with a C, but I got an A. Dr. Zupancic does not like lazy students. Go to class, study, DO YOUR HOMEWORK, and she will reward you for that. Work hard, and you will learn a lot.

Dr. Zupancic is a nice person, she knows the material. She gives a lot of work and she grades as if she is out to get you. I felt stressed when I had to go to her class. She made me feel stupid,I knew exactly what I was going to get from her every time I turned in my papers. I felt as if she was picking on me on purpose. But I still love her...

This was the most difficult French class I've ever taken. But, at the end of the day, I also learned the most from it. Do the work, ask her questions, and make sure to participate early on so you can get in her good graces.

She's a genius pretty much. She speaks a ton of different languages besides French and she does so perfectly. I was in France with her this Summer and can definitely see that she knows her stuff. This woman is an excellent teacher but expects you to give your all. There is no off day in this class or any other that she teaches. Hardest A ever.

Loved having Metka, I'm taking her class again this semester. While I struggled in the beginning of this class, she knew that I made an effort and went out of her way to help. My french improved incredibly after her class. She isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I never had a problem with her.

Metka is a very intelligent woman who has no qualms about insulting the intelligence of others publicly. She frequently discussed other students while they were not in class as well as discussed student grades in front of the entire class. She picks favorites in the beginning who can do no wrong and is unreasonably hard on everyone else.

i agree that she doesn't hesistate to put you on the spot and critisize your work. She seems to have her favorites. She really tries to make the work load easier on her students though and gives ample amount of study material before tests. She is very intimidating though and can make you feel stupid really quickly

I love Metka! She is an awesome professor and really cares about her students. She wants you to succeed, but she makes you work for it. I hope to take several more classes from her and, of course, I would recomment her class to anyone!

She's a good teacher who knows the information and cares about students. However, I went to visit her for work on a project for her class and she said "You suck at public speaking" without asking whether I can speak in public. She is very rude.

i would try to avoid her if possible, but good luck because she teaches almost everything. she is really smart, but cant understand why other people arent as smart, or that we are still learning. if you get her you will probably spend the majority of the time trying to avoid being called on because she puts you on the spot daily.
