Great Professor, knows the material very well, clear explanations on concepts & goes over harder topics multiple times to ensure everyone understands. He practices Holistic medicine and discusses these concepts with the curriculum, which i found extremely interesting. Gives generous curves and only tests on material from class. Tests are very fair.

Very nice guy. He's just everywhere and you literally need to study every single thing he says. I took him during the summer and I managed to get through it with an A. He gives a good curve.

worst experience at NCC. I'm a straight A student and this course was brutal. He was literally all over the place ALL THE TIME. contradicted himself on what would and wouldn't be on the test and when it would be. Sat there for 2 hours in lab not teaching whatsoever. Ran out of time in the semester and didnt even teach us Neuro. DO NOT TAKE HIM.

I took it over the summer. It was intense but glad I did. Even though the lecture tests were harder than lab he graded fairly and with a good curve. I really don't know what everyone is complaining about, he is a great teacher. He was very knowledgeable and interesting. You have to study and yes take notes, but what did you expect it is college!

Great professor!!!!!! Knows the material extremely well! He may be a little pushy with his conspiracies and beliefs but even that is pretty interesting, he is a holistic doctor so what else would you expect. Tests are tough but not impossible, all of it is off of his notes. I would definitely recommend taking him.

Comment:

Balas is an amazing professor. Although his tests are hard they are not impossible. Many people, myself included, felt that his lab tests were a lot easier then lecture but all that means is you just have to work harder to get a better grade. He is such a cool guy which makes the class a lot more fun to go to. I would definitely recommend him.

Such a nice guy, tests may be tricky but he's there for you during class if you need the help. Hes so understanding about the too, if anything is on it that we didn't learn he will take it out and give it an awesome curve. He is so kind and really funny. I wish he taught 132 because I would def take him again. Just study and you'll be fine!!!!

Ok everyone who had written on this must have failed miserably because prof balas isn't that bad. He is such a nice guy and he always tries his best to explain things so you understand. Tests may be a little tricky but he always curves it so you end up doing good. He knows how to keep the class interesting. Just study, I would definitely recommend

Prof balas is decent. His tests are ridiculous because he says everything will be on it but only a few topics are actually there. Other than that he is a nice guy and always explains things if you need him to go over it again. If you could take another professor I would but if you get him don't freak out, he isn't as bad as he seems! Just study!!!

Dr. Balas is not the greatest prof at NCC. His grading ethics is unquestionable . His lecture test is very hard and confusing with a, b , both or neither and for Lab he is decent. If you need a better grade for A&P i would suggest anybody to seek another prof; otherwise you will ended up dropping or receiving an F. All in all, Run!! UNFAIR!!

Good class. Teaches the relevant A&P, plus his additional unorthodox teachings, but that's okay. Tests were a little tricky, but as long as you go over the lecture notes you'll do well. Only review things covered in class in the text, that's all he'll cover on tests. Overall good experience, just pay attention and take good notes.

I liked balas. He really did know his stuff. He incorporated a lot of extra info that you have to know. Gives you what he will test you on the textbook not used much. You really should record the class to do well. Tests can be tricky but you just need you put the effort in. Always willing to repeat in class if you don't understand something.

I thought professor Balas was a pretty thorough teacher. The unorthodox teachings were a little annoying but as far as the A&P stuff, he really knew his things! tests weren't hard, just tricky. I made it out alive whereas 2/3 of the class dropped mid semester. i guess its subjective to personal experience.

This man teaches his opinions, not the facts. On top of that, his test are horrible. They are questions and the answer choices are a,b,both or neither. I was an A student in A&P 1 and got a C+ in his class. When I retook it I got an A. I do not recommend him at all. All his opinions make you feel horrible if you have medical issues he speaks about.

Claims all his tests are from the book but he uses an outdated version, also puts things on the exams he said wouldn't be there. He is a GPA killer, I don't know how they allow him to teach how he does. If he's your only option don't take him
