This was my first history class and absolutely loved it! Some say he is a tough grader, but if you pay attention to lectures you can easily answer the essay quetions and do assignments. He is one of my favorite professors!!! Wish he wasn't retired!

Took this with Thorn and Roby. Was my second class with Thorn and I think he is GREAT! Such a cool guy! With assignments, he says dont waste time with intro - get to the point, explain clearly, and know your stuff from PAYING ATTENTION in class! Wish he wasn't retired - only teaches a class like every other semester now...

Professor Thorn is the best! He makes class interesting, fun, funny, ect. He is retiring but will be coming back to teach a class with another teacher... Can't wait! Oh and he has a really cool English accent!

This is an enjoyable class to attend, and Professor Thorn explains the materially very well. Granted he may be a difficult grader on essays (homework and test answers) but if you make sure to explain things fully, he will give you a good grade.

Funny teacher, very enthusiastic about subject. Does get off subject but is funny and humorous, likes discussion. Difficult grader. The same paper handed to him was a C+ and was an A- with Roby. Good class though, good guy.

Hard to understand him when he is lecturing. Tends to fall completely off track when lecturing. He is very hard of hearing so if you have something to say in class you have to yell it for him to hear you.. He also has problems with ppl who have to go to the bathroom during class, and he likes to lecture OVER the time to leave.
