Comment:

Never wanted to quit a class sm! Discussions on most online courses are just that, discussions. She expects an entire essay for each discuss. post and only rewards 1 to 2 points. She gives extra discussions every week so you can post more than once, just means more essays. Takes away from other hwk/ tests needed to study for, which are all essays

Jeez if its not her way its no way. The professor just piles on loads of work all within a restricted time frame. If everything is not complete 100%, you wont get any credit for any of it. Don't bother, horrible online class.

EVERY WEEK you have to do 3 chapters, 2 discussion questions, 3 quizzes, answer chapter questions. Plus theres 4 tests that have 50 multiple choice/written. If this is the ONLY class your going to take then take it otherwise DONT because you will spend all week doing the classwork. Theres TOO MUCH classwork!!

The class is a lot of work. At first, her instructions were very vague but after a while you get the jist of what to do. Some of her comments do seem sarcastic. You have to participate in weekly discussions usually more than once. You have to do research for some of the discussions as well, for example finding case studies.

I don't know what's up with the bad ratings. I'm generally a C/B student (full time job and have kids), yet managed to get an A in the class. Her questions/responses are not "sarcastic" as most commented, but it is thought-provoking and compel you to do some work or reread instructions more carefully (college level english is a prereq)

Comment:

Shes a great teacher. This class is very clear cut. Read the chapter (not mandatory if you can pick it up on lec), read and take notes on the lecture, take the quiz, do a 3-4 question writing assignment and participate in the discussion (per chapter). She is always online and always open for questions. VERY engaging, very helpful. 10/10

Professor Pilati Is a very fair professor her class might me a little overwhelming at first but it gets easier she makes it clear her class won't be an easy a so expect to read the text book and study and you'll be fine she just wants to make sure her students understand the material.

EXTREMELY RUDE. She is condescending in the way she addresses her students. It is very obvious she does not simply want to help her students learn, but instead enjoys picking at their mistakes. If you like rude professors who will give you dry responses, go for it.

Brace yourself! This teacher is EXTREMELY rude! I have no idea why she is so mean! She enjoys putting people down, I think she feels superior, her topics regard bullying, she's a bully! Her thoughts are scattered. Her directions are all over the place, but she finds no fault within herself, only in her students.

Do not take her course very difficult. The main idea of discussions are for the students to give each other feedback responses to one another but this professor picks on you (by name) if she does not find your respond to a peer "useful" her syllabus is confusing and her directions do not make sense. Worst professor I have encountered yet.

Makes class harder than has to be. Is sarcastic and rude. Unclear on many questions asked and tough discussions. Reading is required. Gives extra credit and only counts some of all graded material, which helped me. I got 1 B, and 3 D's on her tests and ended up with a B overall. Hard and time consuming but not impossible. Not a class to slack tho

For it being an online class, she expected way TOO much! Stay away class! She tells yo everything is in the syllabus, which is not. As for her discussions, she just criticizes you. We are pretty much all "dumb" in her eyes. WORST CLASS I HAVE EVER TAKEN!!!

While Dr. Pilati is more involved than many online profs she gives scrambled directions and assignments. The grading system is a rabbit hole and there is little sense of whether you are earning an A or a C. Asking for help elicits condescension though I believe her intentions are to weed out laziness. Writing assignments helpful but four pages.

Very wordy. Claims that 99% of what she explained in the syllabus is clear and detailed. She posts a questions folder on the discussion post only to be sarcastic of our questions. She did say there is no stupid question. Apparently, 99% of our questions have been stupid so far. She has a very confusing system. Worst online class I've ever taken.

I'm an A and B student because of the amount of work was given and miscommunication with this instructor I received my first F in college. I tried asking for help and she recommended to just drop the class. Her final is cumulative and her study guides suck. They are no help. you basically teach yourself & HAVE TO READ THE WHOLE BOOK!

Assigns way too much work for a 3 unit class. Doesn't write the majority of her test questions. The ones she seems to have written are always the poorly worded ones. Lecture study guides aren't helpful. Never helpful when you ask for help. Very rude and condescending. Try to take this class with someone else if you can.

Not helpful at all. A student, who may not be an native English speaker asked a question and she responded, "You have never been asked to post your answers to the Written Assignment questions in the Discussion. That would be really odd. Please be sure to read your guiding documents - carefully and completely. It sort of sounds like you have not."
