Took him for stats. Won't babysit you but he's very fair and clear. Gives cd's with lectures on them which was big help to me. Bottom line: if you go to class and put forth the effort an A is not difficult. NOT FOR SLACKERS

He is really smart, so smart that he is stupid sometimes. He'll go WAY off topic in the middle of class and have everyone looking dumbfounded then jump right back into what he had on the board. The discs are lifesavers since he DOESN'T give any kind of reviews at all.

The Class Starts off Really hard but gets alot easier. seems to skip around a bit but nothing you cant understand,he will slow down if you ask questions. you dont need the book but it does help a little.

great teacher. to make a good grade in his class you need to BE THERE, take notes, get the CDS (very helpful), ask questions, and stop complaining. don't buy the book for college algebra, he doesn't use it. i have never made an A in any math class except for his.

I loved him...enough to take his class twice. I really suck in math, but his way of teaching made me understand algebra and stats. USE the cds it has all the answers!!

He was not a good teacher. He was not helpful at all, and there were a ton of mistakes on his disks that were supposed to help us out. I would be so confused thinking I just really didn't understand and then it would turn out he had a mistake on the disk. He's rude, doesn't respond quickly. Only B I ever got.

He really goes outta his way to make you understand this stuff. He gives you CD's explaining everthing in a video, he gives you homework assignments(which are hard if you dont have the cds) and gives you practice tests(on the cd) that look exactly like the test. Doesnt get any easier than that! Nice teacher

The disks are lifesavers. I don't think I would have made it through any other professors class. Not only did I grasp stats, I could apply what I learned from him to another class at the same time and I knew what I was doing. He is entertaining and will tell you up front that as long as you do the work and stay on top of it you will make it through

I took online. He has lectures to read with examples throughout and also has practice sheets that are normally very simular to the actual work. He is pretty timly in getting back to you with any questions you may have.

Just like what was already said. The disks contain the class lectures. If you leave the class not quite sure, look over the disks and the lectures. You'll figure it out. Dr. Settle is a great instructor!

Comment:

Very helpful,provides all students with Disk to take home for studying and homework, in addition to several email accounts that he always responds to. His explanations of material are easy to follow.
