Comment:

Molly made taking a mandatory GE class enjoyable and truly engaged the class in active learning! She has the ability to meet her students needs by utilizing various teaching methods to provide a comprehensive understanding of material. I'm not even a science major and I would take her again!

Comment:

Molly Schrey is a solid professor in a way that she makes her lectures very fun and entertaining, but she does NOT fool around when it comes to exams. Human Biology is a HARD course and a lot of studying must go into it in order to pass. However, she does give out 5 ec pts for doing the sgs. I can't recommend her enough! Thank you and God Bless!

Im not a bio major but I absolutely LOVED her class! Shes extremely passionate and her enthusiasm makes it easy to understand things. I suggest recording the lectures as she does talk fast sometimes and its hard to get it all. Study guides are optional but are very helpful and doing them gives you up to 5 pts extra credit on exams which is nice.

Comment:

I took Human Bio with Molly last fall and she's great! She has extra-credit study guides you can do, and I really recommend at least looking them over, because I found them really beneficial before exams. Since it is a 5 unit science class, it's about 5 hours on the 1 day/week that you'll have lecture AND lab, so be prepared for that. And STUDY!

Her enthusiasm with all of the course work is super contagious. Really looked forward to seeing her every day. Really wish she taught upper division biology courses.

Comment:

Organized & super sweet! Definitely knows her stuff about the subject and you can tell she loves to teach. Quizzes every lab day. Labs are usually interesting but tests are difficult. She often puts stuff on the exams that is not taught in class and assigns a lot of work to learn alone. Lectures a lot, even in lab occasionally. It was a hard class!

She's probably the greatest professor I ever had. I have never been a fan of biology, but taking this class made it an interesting subject and was definitely worth my time. She provides many resources on her website and is very clear about what is going to be on the exam. She offers a lot of extra credit opportunities that help your grade.

I am not a bio major, she makes it really hard for non bio majors to participate and catch up in her class. If you are a bio major she is has a lot she can teach you. Also if you have any life outside of class or if something comes up do not expect her to have sympathy for you or help you out in any way.

If you work, take other classes, have responsibilties, and other complications. Do not take her class. She makes the class very difficult, with heavy lectures, confusing examples, and long useless study guides with 20-30 4 part questions that may or may not be on the exams. Very tedious and challenging for NO REASON. This is an intro class. BEWARE

Molly's lectures were interesting and her labs were fun! All the powerpoints and videos she went over in class are on her website if you want to go over it, and the study guides are really helpful and worth some extra credit. The tests were straightforward, and if you have trouble, she'll make time to help you. Definitely take her if you can!

The most amazing lecturer you will ever find. She is very enthusiastic and makes you interested in the material. Also her examples are very easy to understand. As long as you do all the labs and study from the textbook or study guides she gives out you'll pass with ease.

Molly lectures are clear, organized, and perfect for people who might not be majoring in bio. Do all your labs. Professor Schrey is a great teacher who really cares about her students. It's not an easy class, but you have plenty of opportunity for extra credit. Do the study guides! They give you extra credit and really help you on exams. Exams are a combo of mc and short answer. Pop quiz at the beginning of each lab helps on exams, so don't skip lab!!!

I was intimated by this class when it started. Once the first exam was through and I was familiar with how she was testing it was easy. Awesome teacher, sit next to nerds in your lab. Spend an hour after lecture doing the study guides once a week so you can actually study before the test. Quizlet, Khan Academy, and crash course youtube videos are super useful. My Quizlet folder is named Human Biology (bio11) if you're interested.
