I love how norm smiles when he lectures. He likes what he's teaching. And uses real world relevant examples in his lesson plans. He is a true economist. And I think he's great. He been teaching at Georgian a long time. He really knows his stuff. And is very articulate. You are lucky to have him. I will choose him again if provided the oppritunity.

Norm is an excellent teacher! Come to class, listen, and participate and you shouldn't have a problem. There are no dumb questions for Norm, he understands how complex economics are and that it is difficult to understand.

Had a wonderful experience learning from Prof smith. Given the subject manner, he has done his best to bring energy and life to abstract theories that are not the easiest to grasp without real world application knowledge or experience. I certainly look forward to working with him again as he is very helpful, understanding, and a wealth of knowledge

Norm's lectures are long and dry but the guy is willing to help his students pass no matter what which is a good thing for microeconomics. He gives marks for attendance and the online homework is a piece of cake (which is good because its worth a collective 25% of your grade!) If you can find a good tutor in the meantime then yes take his class.

Norm made me see Economics in a global perspective. It was a great class! Although, I really needed to study hard because he is picky when it comes to his tests. Ask questions and he'll try his best to clarify the situation. Just absorb the knowledge, then apply and you'll be golden!

This class is brutal his lectures are super dry and the content he covers in class doesn't reflect on his tests at all I find the tests ridiculous compared to the actual content in the lectures I'm In the same class as the poster above with a 57% average that says something norm needs to change it up

Not really good at explaining things, and puts me right to sleep, would probably help if It wasn't just all tests during the whole course but that's how it goes. His tests are very hard and this class has a 57% average which says a lot about it. He's a nice person I just think his teaching method is quite boring, he should really change the courses

Norm definitely knows what he's talking about but he's not always great at explaining concepts clearly. if you're not understanding something, you have to be persistent in asking for more clarity. Don't give up though because Norm will keep working with you as long as you need him to. He really cares about his students and wants them to succeed.

Norm is a dedicated teacher that clearly enjoys his profession and takes it seriously. I first sat down in his class the first day and thought am I in the wrong room? Me and Economics, Norm gradually through concept, enthusiasm, and dedication taught me to understand and appreciate Economics. Something I thought I would never learn.

Too much focus on personal stories and political leanings, uses outdated powerpoint and disagrees with the slides. Nice man but very dry teaching style. I'm not a disgruntled student, I got a 90, just voicing ,my opinions.

This class is fairly challenging, but again, like accounting, if you did the review and studied your butt off, you would have done well. Norm's points of views were refreshing at 8am in the morning. It's too bad we only had him for one class.
