An amazing professor (especially for film classes). He counts attendance for this class because there won't be many of you, but I'm not sure if it counts. Always a lecture, but interesting to follow along. Get ready for movies. Always has a paper/presentation but you can get through it.

Professor Stanley enlightened me to Pop Culture Theories. You are required to read textbook, participate in discussion boards, a midterm, a final and one well written paper on a movie or other pop culture item of your choice. Professor Stanley is THE BEST! He is by far the most caring, helpful, and knowledgeable professor I have had. Easy grader, extra credit, helpful and responds relatively fast. I would definitely take him again! He is a doll!

HE. IS. AWESOME. The subject, however, not so much. 4 discussions, 2 exams, 6-7 page paper. I took this class as a May mini, so lots of work with little time. Better watch his lectures, as well as the advice he gives or you won't pass. He seriously gives plenty of help to prepare for the exams and major paper. Pay attention, work, and read!

Mr. Stanley is by far one of the best teachers at Lamar. He is so dedicated with teaching and you can tell that he loves his job. He makes learning so much better! He is super quirky and makes a lot of movie references! You won't regret taking his class!

Good instructor. Passionate about pop culture and understanding it's implications in our lives. Get ready to read and write. I'd take him again, but next time I will WATCH THE MOVIES he recommends. On the test. No quizlet help here, folks.

What can be said about Stanley that hasn't already. He's the best. However don't treat the class as a blowoff. Several questions from the test come directly from movies shown in class and you have to be there to understand the context. That said if you show up and study you will be fine. Never thought I would learn so much from an elective!

Stanley's lectures are easy to follow, but can put you to sleep. He gives a review for the test and everything on there shows up on the test. Attend class because he shows movies and clips, and they'll be test questions. Film journals are easy and he gives extra credit. He can tell if you care, so don't just blow him off. He's a nice professor.

The only thing that is terrible is that he don't put grades in. It's almost of the semester and I still don't know what grade I have in the class. Whenever I ask him, he said to come by office hours, but e don't be there when I go. You watch many videos, but it's a lot of lecturing in this class.

Professor Stanley's lectures are great. He gives you all the information through constant examples and class participation, making retaining the material extremely easy. He's excited to be in class and extremely helpful always. I hope i get the opportunity to take him again.

Stanley is an LU legend. I took him for Honors Film and he made the class so interesting by tying the films and clips we watched into various political and social theories. Tests were not difficult and papers were easy if you paid attention in class. He really works with you to get you an A, and he's always thrilled about something!

Took this course online. Pretty easy, and he's very helpful. Gives out a study guide for tests, as well as notes and lectures. If you have a question he answers you right away. The subject matter is kind of boring, and hard at times.

This man is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet! He is extremely helpful and always wears a smile. He teaches right out of the textbook, but you don't need it to pass. Lectures are actually interesting, as they are accompanied by film clips. If you have the chance, take his class!

this is the sweetest guy ever. he finds the speeches are good(even when they aren't sometimes) and encourages the students. I finally felt comforable with public speaking. He give tons of extra credit. I think my final grade was like 110! take the class
