Comment:

Dr Maclin is very knowledgeable about eyewitness testimony. If you want to learn everything there is to know about this topic, get him going on it. To talk to someone who knows every facet of a subject is inspiring. Him and his wife are UNI professors and very invested in the community.

Comment:

The content covered in behavior modification is not hard, its just something you may need to read or study for a short bit to learn. However, Dr. Maclin is hardly ever on campus. Assignments are all online and are pointless. Lectures are the same. The class is ridiculously and involves a lot of "hoop jumping". WASTE OF YOU MONEY.

The class was interesting and really easy, but I felt like when I would try to make points in class, or asked questions on topics I didn't understand, he made me feel stupid or tried to argue with me. The online portion is super easy, and while there is reading, you barely have to do any of it. Goes off topic and repeats often in his lectures.

Comment:

Maclin is AWESOME and relatable. Very understanding and relatable to students. All classes are hybrid, 1/2 online and one class a week, not mandatory tho. Bmod book is provided, His/Sys book you NEED. 2 "papers" a week which consist of a few questions you answer in number format. HIGHLY recommend him in every sense!

all of his classes are set up as hybrid classes, meaning you go to class once a week and the other day you post on a blog. You can opt out of going to class you just have to take an actual final at the end rather than just doing an extensive blog post. down to earth, laid back, accepts late work at any point, work with you on any kind of problem

LOVE Otto!! he's awesome and very helpful with anything and everything in life. GREAT teacher. no textbook required, because his is online. 2 blog writings due a week, but easy and you learn a lot!

He is one of the most inspirational and life changing professors I have ever had. He is unorthodox but mostly because he understands how the educational system is flawed. I would take his class again in a heartbeat.

His teaching style is very different but effective. The class has a ton of outside work but its doable, and you only have the class once a week so it evens out. Learned lots in this class. Don't have to buy a book, he types up sections he wants you to read. Doesn't respond to emails quickly if at all, just ask in class.

I wouldn't take this class if you actually want to learn something, but if you want an easy A it's perfect. Otto is super laid back and understanding. You write blogs on Tuesdays and Thursdays which take 10 minutes tops. No tests, no textbook.

If faced with any sort of obligation or responsibility Otto will ignore you until the problem goes away. But if you have questions with easy answers he will get back to you promptly. Very Unreliable!!! Very immature for a professor. This class is a teach yourself sort of class. Waste of Time.

Very interesting stuff but it is A LOT of work. When I was finished with the class I had 47 pages worth of blog work! The tests were essay questions where you just run off at the mouth about what you know. Then it's up to his opinion on what grade to give you...so you feel like you have to get on his good side. But interesting and easy to talk to.

I hated him as easy because you never do anything in class. Theres TONS of busy work, but when you get to class, he does nothing but ramble. He always offers help but he's always on tangets, so he doesnt explain anything. Very unorganized. Hes writing his own book as we take the class, so it sucks and you can't learn from it either. DONT take him!

I really, really like Prof. MacLin. He IS awesome! Be sure to study for his tests, but if you put in the effort you will rock his course! I agree with some he can be a little disorganized at times (not often), but he is a knowledgeable, entertaining, and approachable expert who knows how to put together a great class! Take him!!!!

Great teacher. Easy tests because you as the class make the questions based of the textbook he is writing. Easy fun class. Laid back and helpful. Take him if you want a good, fun, teacher in Psychology. You won't be upset with your decision. Is helpful and cares about students.

Not a bad guy, you have to get to know him and understand his personality. READ THE BOOK! If you pay attention in class and read the chapter you should do well. I didn't read the chapters very much and therefore got a B, but could have got an A. He gives you quizzes after each lecture about the lecture to get points. Easy way to get points.

Cool guy, but very unorganized. Poor at getting grades back in timely manner and staying on schedule. Did self-change project. Very easy, but need to read the book. Had us buy 2 books, but only used that one. Supposed to have 5 tests, but we ended up taking 4. Final optional.
