I had Dr Pages for both Calc 1 (Math 131) and for Math 234 (Applications for Engineers/Differential Equations). I agree that you do have to work inorder to pass his class but any time that I have ever had a problem and asked for help he was willing and available. Of course if you sleep in class and don't do HW then you deserve to fail.

He is completely useless. he will never help you and just tell you how much you suck. he randomly has outbursts in class and spends half a class period yelling at people. plus hes French and you can barely understand him half the time cause he talks so fast and doesn't explain anything. if you get stuck with him withdraw immediatley

While he does have a reputation for being a jerk, if you show up, go to tutoring and pass the gateway you'll get through it. I've never worked so hard in a class for such a bad grade, but its def. high up on the amount I ended up learning. He goes fast, but he has to to get through everything.I've ended up appreciating his no-nonsense attitude.

All I can say is I wasted my money on this class. I worked harder in this class than I have in any other, hours a night every night. Pages has no respect for you as a student or as a cadet. He has the either you get it or you don't mentality, and if you don't you are screwed because he won't help you.

Holy Crap! A Citadel Math professor who takes time to explain concepts to his students to make sure they understand what he's teaching. I had Cohn for 106 and have already learned and understood more in just a week with Pages. He should teach more lower level classes. This guy is awesome.
