This class is centered on group discussions, she splits the class up into groups of 5 almost every other class. The content is fairly easy. Your grade is based on making a policy memo on a topic you chose, she gives good feedback when she grades papers. There are pop-up class assignments, so while class is not mandatory it is highly encouraged.

There is a lot of group work in class and a lot of in-class participation things that she uses for grades. So if you don't like talking in groups, I wouldn't take her. However, she offers a lot of extra credit that really helps you on exams. Her exams are half multiple choice and half an essay that you submit before the exam class period.

Professor Jaramillo made my days downtown after professor Pina enjoyable and especially with my freshman year experience with AIS. She is a laid back teacher and very caring for students in the AIS curriculum. She really cares for her students and wants students to their best. She is an awesome AIS professor and does not stress us out!

So sweet and helpful. Big project load, you'll work mainly with SPSS not as much work with calculations as Romero. She'll help and mentor you through out the class if you ask. Willing to work with you.

Although the tests are fairly hard (the average in class is a 72), I think she is a good teacher. Very well informed, always repeats herself and makes certain everyone understands before moving to a different topic. I think she's a good teacher.

While Jaramillo is very intelligent on matters pertaining to politics, she is a bit scatterbrained and unorganized, and takes FOREVER to grade tests or projects. Overall, decent prof.

Very easy class, took it over the mini-mester, never studied...barely read the book and made straight A's. Does put her power points on webct, along with reviews etc. Would take from her again. Def. recommend to anyone who does now like politics, she didnt force her views on you.

An excellent political science instructor...unlike other professors, she does not impose her own personal ideology on students. Her lectures are clear and concise, and as long as you read the text, attend class, and study for exams, getting an A should be no problemo.

She's not an easy professor, but not a hard one either. She doesn't put notes or powerpoints online, so it's best to go to class. She gives extra credit on low-attendance day anyways. I hear she's not doing group projects anymore; consider yourself LUCKY!! Great professor overall.
