I've taken every single class Dr. Fauth taught, including directed and independent studies, and thesis, save for one. I learned so much from him, everything from basic reading and scientific writing skills up to objectivity and proper experimental design. Long assessment short, Dr. Fauth will make you earn your A but you will be better for it.

He is not helpful at all. Going to him for help and trying to explain why you picked what you did, him agreeing with you, then marking it wrong anyways is pretty much a summary of how things are run. Good luck with his multiple choice or his true or false because you won't understand what he's asking, then he'll just mark it wrong. Ihatedit

Dr. Fauth is a tough teacher, but he is going to prepare you for the real world. Complaints about spelling & grammar? Spelling & grammar matter in the real world. Complaints about multiple multiple choice? The real world doesn't give you 1 of 4 choices. I pity those complaining about Dr. Fauth, the real world is going to be a real surprise.

Tests- impossible to receive an A. Multiple multiple choice tests are ridiculous. Takes off points if you miss the smallest detail on free response questions. More like an engligh teacher on lab reports. Its about content Peter, not grammar and spelling.

He's a fantastic teacher. Though exams are incredibly challenging (even as a major), you will find yourself a better scientist and biologist after taking a Fauth class.

As said above. Takes off for not including un-addressed answers in short answer. Overcritical on spelling, punctuation, and grammar while doing in-class short essays. Grades reflect his level of importance on writing, however, english teachers grade lighter.

Work hard and you will get the deserved grade. If a major in this field, pay attention. As you move into the upper levels, and out of undergrad, you will appreciate his attention to detail and high expectations. He will make you a better scientist. I should have worked harder in his classes, myself.

Worst teacher ever. Never read the book because he gave us outlines before AND after the reading was due. Tests are a horrible measure of what you know..tries to trick you and takes off points on short answer for not explaining things the question didn't ask for. labs were easy but all outside rain or snow which was horrible.

Let us not forget the multiple multiple choice questions in exams. All, some or none of the answers could be the right answer. Only circled one answer when there was two... points off. Circled three when it was four... points off. He was into himself and not in teaching content in a way that made topics digestible. Hurt many GPAs, including mine.

I was very excited to take this course, but he only teaches off Powerpoint slides and doesn't explain material well. Also, his tests are set up to trick you so make sure you read each question well before answering (He uses a lot of multiple-multiple choice questions that are confusing).

I took Biology 101 and 203 with him. I barely made it through 101. I dropped 203 half way through the semester. The way he teaches is horrible.I changed my major because of him. He turned science into a nightmare.

Fauth thought everyone who took his intro bio class were all bio majors. I was there for requirements. Fauth was not even willing to sit and work with me, he told me i should take a withdrawl. I got a tutor and was able to get a d+ but it damaged my gpa.

I left Hartwick long ago but pretty much the worst professor I have ever had. Bearly taught anything, killed my love of science, and made life miserable for anyone who wasn't one of his fav's. That being said he is petty smart and should not be teaching intro classes. Bottom line he is underutilized and takes it out on his intro classes.

Fauth teaches only off power points, most people who take this class fail eventhough its a 100 level. All bio majors say that he should not be teaching a 100 level class. I HATE BIOLOGY because of Fauth!!!!
