Comment:

Has a hilarious sense of humor. He doesn't stress the importance of listening to the music outside of class enough, but it is crucial to your success in this class. Spend time listening to the recordings and filling out the different music categories. He offers plenty of extra credit, but you have to turn in all the homework assignments.

Honestly, Mr. Spencer is a great teacher he makes his class entertaining. There is a plus to his class gives out so much extra credit (; However, YOU HAVE to turn in all hmw so get ready to do a lot of vocab terms, and write a lot of papers! passed w/ an A . Smiple work easy A.

He is a good teacher. Test are half listening portion. Give bunch of extra credit. Do the extra credits test are hard. Retake one out of three exams and the end of the semester. Essays are usually 3 pages. There is one five essay though. He grades by points they are out of 400. You will have to determine your own grade; he can only give an estimat.

While he may be a decent instructor for his regular Music 107 program, he is far from satisfactory as an Honors Professor. An honors class is suppose to dive deep with communication and analysis of the subjects covered in class. However, Professor Spencer has the notion that no, you should understand everything perfectly without explanation.

He was really nice and not judgmental at all. You could be completely off when singing and he would still compliment you and give you an A. His test are super easy (changed from previous semesters). The study guides are the test and the final is a combination of the 1st2nd test and last chapters in one. Exact same questions.

Professor Spencer is a fantastic instructor! I learned so many new things about music and I wish we would have been able to go through the whole textbook. His instructions are clear - do the concert reports as early as you can in the semester, listen to the assigned music, and focus on your semester presentation. Would definitely take this again!

You flip through the book and discuss ideas and listen to music during class. You definitely use your textbook! Every week you do vocab for each chapter. Tests include a multiple choice, essay, and listening. Easier than they are made out to be. Final is a final project on a genre of music (5 page paper and presentation), and a take home final.

Don't get me wrong he's a nice guy and all but he doesn't explain things very well. And he also needs to touch up his teaching skills because I think it's bad when your whole class is falling asleep. He also doesn't use technology...so don't email him with a question because he won't respond!

Great guy! Knows music and knows what he wants from his choirs. If you're an advanced singer you'll have to be patient with him. He spoonfeeds to the point of exhaustion and his pacing and time management are terrible. He runs a really fun group aside from the two hour rehearsals before every concert. I hope you ate your Wheaties.

He is very friendly and a very nice guy. The class is easy but you have to study for the tests.. study the guide he gives and LISTEN TO THE MUSIC TRACKS FOR THE CHAPTER that is very important. He definitely loves what he's doing.. good guy!
