Professor Bolton did an excellent job calling our attention to a lot of interesting perspectives. I learned a lot, enjoyed learning (NB: I always do) It was enormous by Pomona standards (about 100 people), and I was really worried about that, but it wasn't a problem at all. Bonus: Prof. Bolton brings his dog to class.

This class is incredible. Having said that, it may not be worth the struggle. I am not a student who can memorize small bits of information, therefore I did not do well on the nit-picky multiple choice weekly quizzes and 2 tests. Therefore, I did not do well in the class. Take the class for credit. DO NOT take it for your GPA/req's

Though this class is the most interesting class offered not only at the claremont colleges, but also on the west coast, it is not worth it. The many guest speakers were phenomenal and the subjects were so fun to learn about, the tests and quizzes were so hard. Unless you can memorize tiny little details from textbooks, dont take this class

I took Human Sexuality with Bolton. I would recommend it to everyone. The speakers are incredible: former prostitute, LGBT, animal sex expert, people with AIDS, etc. The class has a TON of reading, but if you do it on time and study a bit, you can get an A. We watched lots of videos and the reading was my "break" from traditional academic hw.

With PO cracking down on the "seriousness" of the class, he tries to make it "serious". Instead, class is boring; nothing good comes out of class except panic when quizzes are given. Reading material is useless except for quizzes. He tests on 6 weeks of material in one sitting, and is full of himself; doesn't even bother to know students better.

Loved this class! Don't be fooled though: It can be incredibly difficult. Tests are frequent and difficult and there is a TON of reading. The teacher is honest and forthright and sympathetic to the needs and feelings of students.
