Comment:

He is a GREAT teacher. He's not strict. Just come to class and pay attention. He does go by fast sometimes, but if you're confused just raise your hand before he goes on. He doesn't have a problem answering questions. He's very helpful. I HIGHLY recommend you take him. ESPECIALLY the nursing majors.

great teacher! helps as much as he can before the exams. we have a quiz after every chapter but they are easy overall. the exam are 25 questions multiple choice and very very straight forward. i 100% recommend him.

Layland is always willing to help, keeps class light hearted, and covers info very clearly. tests and quizzes are easy to study for because hes clear about whats on them and gives textbook practice problems. if you miss class then you definitely need to see him outside of class.

Dr. Layland is an AMAZING chemistry teacher!!! He has an amazing sense of humor and is really good at helping. He teaches you what you need to know in the least complicated manner he can find. He tells you EXACTLY what to study for to prepare for each quiz and test so there's no guessing "do I need to know this or not?". Choose him for Chem 105!

Comment:

Dr. Layland makes his lectures super engaging and is constantly joking around in class. He doesn't take attendance but if you skip class you will miss tons of notes and example problems. He tells you exactly what is on his tests and quizzes and gives an equation sheet for every test and quiz.

Layland is a straight-forward professor, and will tell you in his course that there is NO EXTRA CREDIT AND ONCE POINTS ARE GONE THERE IS NO GETTING THEM BACK. He only has 3 exams and 6 quizzes so don't try and not take it serious from the beginning of the semester. And if you have questions, GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS.

He is awesome, if you are a PreNursing major do everything you can to get him. He will help you with any questions you have and is as kind to each individual as he is the whole class. Go to every class, he writes things on the board that aren't on his slides, sometimes. Never understood why some people would skip his class.

Layland is the BEST. I have him for lecture and lab and he is amazing! He helps during lecture and lab with anything you need and even if you're not in his class he allows you to go to his office hours and get help on questions. 10/10, wish i could have him for all my science classes.

I love Dr. Layland. His lab was interesting and his quizzes were easy if you skimmed through the lab before class. He always helped us out when we couldn't get something right and allowed one drop lab. I would definitely take him again!

Literally the best chemistry professor. I had him for both 105 and 106. He is willing to help at all times. Responds to email very quick. He explains very well throughout class. The only grades you have in his class are quizzes, tests, and the lab grade at the end. He is the best!!!

Dr. Layland is an amazing professor. He is always willing to help. He prepares you for quizzes and tests like no other professor would. He tries to make sure that he does all that he can to ensure the success of each student. Some people don't do as well as they could in Layland's class because they don't seek help or practice efficiently.

This professors class wasn't very hard. If you don't study the material you'll fail. He actually puts whats going to be on the quizzes on blackboard. If you fail you didn't try.

Best teacher ever. He wants you to make a good grade. Understands the stress that students go through. Very sarcastic in class but its all fun, he means nothing by it. Easiest chemistry teacher for sure. Wouldnt have passed without him.

Comment:

Very good teacher. Even though science came easy to me may be difficult for others a lot of information. Only complaint is get second opinions if he's your advisor. He gave me the run around quite a bit.
