Comment:

Very intelligent. You have to get used to how he teaches. You can basically contact him 24/7 and he loves answering questions. His schedule is a little unclear and sporadic at times, but he's usually pretty fair. Be communicative and he'll usually accommodate you in any way he can. Non-majors might find him difficult to work with. Don't buy book.

Never intend to "bash" anyone. But prof Gann is truly the worst prof I have ever had- in every sense of the word. He rambles, his lessons are choppy and unclear, and is at a loss for words when you are at his office hours and inform him of your difficulty in class.

I took operating systems with Gann. I remember one day we took a test where everyone failed except a person that worked in the IT field. He got an 81. We bought a linux administration book and never opened it. He's horribly confusing and his assignments were ridiculously easy or grad school worthy. No in-between. Nice enough fellow though.

A VERY easy teacher in lower level CS classes - almost a push over. If you complain enough in any level class, he is bound to give in. But he teaches most of the other higher level classes and then becomes the worst teacher in the department! He will help after class and can be helpful SOMETIMES but his teaching is very scattered and unorganized.

He is a very knowledgeable professor. But when it comes to teaching he is very demanding and cannot get his point through clearly. Not the best of the teachers but you're in bad luck if you're a CS major (cuz he'll teach most of the courses).
