Comment:
It's very obvious that Dr. Kline knows his stuff, but having that PhD doesn't make him a good teacher. He usually stutters in class, which makes his lectures very hard to follow along to and a bit mind numbing. Homework tends to be quite unclear, and tests will make or break your grade. Choose a different professor. He just isn't worth the torture.

Kline knows his stuff better than any prof at WCU, hence he teaches the hardest classes. He gets killed on this site because Data Stuct and Algos and Java III are hard. Try finding another prof who has painstakingly provided working code for every single concept he teaches. His site is dense, but everything you need is there.

Purely constructive review. Professor Kline knows the material, but can not clearly explain or convey topics. Visited him in his office hours, insisted a particular example was easy/trivial but honestly could not explain it to me. You will be fine in this class is you are a very proficient self-taught student as his notes are all online.

just avoid him at all cost. He's very unclear, his not by far the worst notes I have ever had to read. Easily get lost in notes. Avoid the stress take someone else

Professor Kline is truly the worst professor I have come across in college. He studders and cannot speak clearly to properly teach the students. Also he only reads from his website notes which he made god knows how long ago. He grades based on 3 tests/programs, all of which are unclear. I had 4.0 in csc classes until I met Kline, he destroyed that.

Kline comes off as a nice guy, however he is one of the worst professors I have ever had. The material is extremely difficult and he only reads over the pages posted on his website. I have always done well in CSC classes, but this is by far the most challenging because he is not clear with the directions. Graded solely on programs and exams.

Kline has a hard time saying anything and is very soft spoken. He will always tell you and never show you how to do something, even when it's just homework and you went to his office hours. By far the worst professor I've ever had. In similar classes programming projects only took me 30 min because the professor actually taught. HE IS NEVER CLEAR.

Taking this class with Kline is one of the hardest and most stressful things I have done. He doesn't teach at all, and expects us to already know everything we're "learning". He's no help in his office hours, as he only gets angry and confused as to why you're not getting it. This class is making me want to switch my major!!

Extremely unclear, class was unorganized. For being a long time professor, Dr Kline has extreme difficulties articulating the point he is trying to get across.

Comment:
He is good in some areas, but lacking in many more. He does not make the material interesting and the projects are downright boring. For the projects you are basically doing the same thing 3 times in a row. This is a user interface design class, we did not design any interfaces or learn how to make them and what design actually is. Meh at best...

A very disorganized and hate to understand teacher. Doesn't get on hand with students and the code and takes things straight from his notes on his website. While I won't say his notes online are terrible, you can easily get lost in them. Learned more in the time studying for the final then from him. Ask him for help and he'll say 'I don't know'

I was looking for an interesting class to take as a senior and I had some free electives and happened to enjoy 141. This was the worst class and worst professor in 3.5 years by FAR. I am a physics major so I have had some pretty challenging classes and poor professors.

I highly suggest you look elsewhere. In class you only copy and paste his programs from his website, so it is all self taught. Tests aren't that hard but projects are nearly impossible, at least for me. This isn't my major but I used have a strong interest in the subject before taking a class with Dr. Kline.

Extremely difficult and not good at teaching the material. I would definitely look elsewhere if possible. Programs leave you lost because they stray away from the material taught. He uses his own jargon and UML style so it isn't easily looked up either. Good luck

Dr. Kline isn't the easiest professor out there, but if you understand his teaching style, you can be challenged and learn a lot. He isn't the best public speaker. The online notes are helpful. If you are looking for an easy A, you won't find it here, but if you enjoy being challenged and want to learn a lot, Kline is a good choice. CSC240 and 241

Poor class and gives little help when at his office hours. He moves quickly through the material and has poor public speaking skills so he is very very hard to understand. If you are unable to follow along with his style of teaching he insists that you should already know what he is saying and does not offer additional help.

Dr. Kline is my favorite professor at West Chester. He is very organized and his notes are always ready before the class session, which gives you enough time to read ahead of the class. He doesn't require a textbook, and frankly, you do not need one. He gives good feedback on your code and is willing to discuss your errors.

Comment:
Stumbles through lectures in a way that barely helps you to understand the material. All of his lectures are read from a web page he made for the class, which is ill suited for presentations. Tests require memorization more so than actual understanding. I barely learned anything in this class.
