Prof. Swensen is the greatest teacher that I've ever had!!! In the short time that I've had the privilege of studying under him, he has ALREADY revolutionized the way that I think about singing and music as a whole. The man is brilliant, and probably has the scariestfunniest sense of humor. It's HILARIOUS XD Study with him if you get the chance!

Excellent teacher. Comments below Definatley reflect students with huge egos that obviously should be doing something else with their lives. Very dedicated teacher, passionate and has the experience to back up the instruction.

He is an excellent teacher. Its a shame t hat ignorant idiots decide to write hurtful things, such as those below. He is one of the best teachers of his profession, and whoever thinks he is an arrogant teacher should be locked up.

Comment:

Makes students think they are improving but really reinforcing and creating more bad habits. Does not really teach, every lesson same thing. Warm up, sing through song, find high note and sing 5-10 times, sing through again, move on to next song, repeat 5-6 times. Never addressed use of whole body when singing. Assigns same repertoire to most.

Comment:

Swensen is arrogant and an Ok teacher for guys, but they all sing pressured at the top. He demonstrates too much just because he likes hearing the sound of his own voice. There are other teachers who are much better and more involved with their students. He also makes inappropriate comments about fellow students in lessons.

swensen's hilarious...especially when he belts out high notes in his studio, and then pretends he needs a drink from the water fountain so he can see who is out there listening!

Comment:

He's an incredible voice professor - very technical, but also puts great focus on artistic interpretation. He doesn't work with every personality (we've all witnessed several clashes) but he's done a lot of amazing things for people in our studio. I for one am a huge fan.
