This was literally the worst class I have ever taken. I love to paint, but listening to this teacher drone on on totally unrelated political and personal tangents, as well as the endless, tedious, incredibly boring slideshows that almost put me into a catatonic state, I dreaded going to school every Friday for this.

Comment:

He honestly wasn't that helpful and was extremely misinformed in his art history. He teaches a lot of different branches of art (landscape, portrait, etc.) but isn't really clear about his assignments and gives very little feedback about overall grades. It was hard to attend every class because it was so boring. Pretty good taste in tunes though.

Absolutely amazing teacher. His teaching style is focused around developing each student's own style. Also, I'm surprised this class doesn't include Philo credit, because he likes to sit in the middle of the room and read art philosophy to us while we draw. Learned great critical thinking skills :)

Ron's great! Maybe doesn't "teach" in the traditional way, but it's ART, you really can only guide and help inspire, and he does this well. If you do the assignments and comunicate with him, you're going to do just fine!

Talented artist but has horrible teaching skills. He will try to say that art is something that can't be tought using words, you just have to do it. Although this is partly true those who posses teaching skills can give students the foundation for a start. I know I have had good treachers-Ron is not one them-avoid

Scattered, VERY unclear on assignments, rambles endlessly about unrelated political topics, EXTREMELY boring. This class will put you to sleep- over half of the class dropped by midterm. Wish I never took this class. This class makes me hate art, and art has been something I have always loved. I have never taken an art class like this!

Ron's class inspired me to paint in a more organic way. He opened my mind to different techniques and subjects to infuse in my art. If you want a teacher truely inspired by art, take a class from Ron.

ron is a great guy. he is pretty unclear about assignments but as long as you DO something slightly related to the assignment, you'll get credit. all he wants to see is that you're making artwork and you're allowed to interpret all of the assignments

Bless his heart...he is super nice, but he truly is scatter-brained.We would be critiquing, and then he would go off on his tangents constantly.Plus, unfortueately, there is not a lot of one-on-one kind of help in this course.
