Comment:

Dr. Boone ruined my summer when I took orgo with him. The subject is very hard as it is, but Dr. Boone's ability to convey the material is absolutely awful. It's hard to understand what he is saying when he speaks/grunts. Avoid at all costs!

READ BEFORE YOU GO TO CLASS. I cannot stress enough how helpful this is . It puts you in a good position to be able to ask questions during an otherwise overwhelming lecture. If you dont read before hand, you will have NO clue what is happening, and you WILL hate the world. Boone's dry humor is legendary. Yes, he's awkward. But yes, he is genius.

Comment:

One of the most frustrating professors that I've ever encountered. The course material is difficult to begin with, but Dr Boone does not do a good job of presenting it in a way that is clear at all. Students have to rely heavily on the book, which isn't too easy to understand either. Steer clear if you can, and if you can't, invest in tutoring.

He is one of the best professors at Lipscomb. You have to work your tail off, but that is because the course material is HARD. He does a wonderful job of conveying the information, but it won't stick unless you practice outside of class. Very underrated. Also completely brilliant. Showing improvement over the semester will win him over.

Dr. Boone is hands-down my favorite professor that I have had at Lipscomb. I took Orgo I and II over the summer. It was also the hardest class I have ever taken- I spent 6 to 8 hours a day studying. Get in a relationship with your textbook. Read it over & over and do every problem multiple times. Try to get on his good side!

Very funny and one of my favorite professors. Boone is a genius who really cares about students who SHOW INTEREST in what he's teaching. If you're only there because it's mandatory, he can tell. Ask questions in class and do all the problems at the end of each chapter. Review past chapters occasionally--it will help enormously.

I am an A student I never made a B in my school time. but this teacher is horrible, his tests are so hard, and he teach you nothing and he will never answer questions you have. his class was the most stressful of all classes and no matter how hard i worked i ended up with a C.

He lectures straight out of the book, so unless you prepare beforehand, you'll have no idea what's going on during class. Doing the practice problems at the end of each chapter is a great way to study. In fact, he once made an entire test out of questions from the book! He really likes students who ask questions or answer his questions in class.

The reviews who say Dr. Boone is evil do not understand that it's your classmates who determine your grade. The other reviews who say your lazy and stupid without an A have stick up their... Remember 20-25% of the class will get an A...Eventually. Most importantly, no matter how low your grade NEVER GIVE UP! Boone loves miracles!

He grunts more than he speaks. Your book will be your best friend. Read the chapter and do all the practice problems before he lectures on that topic or you won't know what's going on. He's bad about getting grades back and doesn't go over tests. Stay on his good side and he's very generous with rounding up your average (only 3 actually earned As).

I visited Lipscomb from another school to take Orgo during the summer. I cannot stress enough how bad a teacher this man is. He won't answer questions, won't give tests back or let you go over them, he didn't return a single graded lab until the day of the final exam. I am a motivated student but Ronnie is truly the worst teacher I have ever had.

A bunch of wusses who shouldn't have passed Gen Chem will tell you this man is the devil. That's only because they are lazy and/or not smart enough to do well. Boone is one of the coolest and best teachers around. His jokes are the best. There is heavy textbook use because it's a real class where you work hard to earn your grade.

Dr. Boone may be THE most feared and hated prof of all science professors mostly because his class is brutal. The only people that like him or his class are the ones that are super-gifted in chemistry. He does not teach at all. I suggest you get acquainted with your book bc it will be your new best friend for the next 2 semesters of Organic.

I knew people who werent lazy at all and studied hard for his class and still didnt do well. I know someone who didnt do well in his class had to take it over again(not with Boone) and he is now in Pharmacy school doing great! Boone is probably the most hated man on campus. His picture on the 4th floor in the science building has seen better days.

He will tell you what chapters to study for the test but then sneaks in problems from other chapters that he never told you were going to be on the test. When you go confront him he will act like he didnt mean too, not do anything about it, and then do it all over again on the next test/quiz.

Yea Boone is a genius alright but can?t explain anything if his life depended on it. It seems he likes scaring students. He calls his tests ?pain events? and tells students they need medication just to get through the tests. DO NOT TAKE!!!!

This man is a Gift From God. He is a complete and utter genius (and not to mention he's hilarious). Some lazy people whine that he's too hard but those of us who can handle it know that he does Organic the way it should be done. You'll really know your stuff if you can make it through his class.

I took him for Organic Chem 1 and 2. Organic is supposed to be a "weed out" class and Dr. Boone definitely succeeds at making it one. I suggest reading your book, notes you take in class are completely worthless

Talk to anyone who's taken Organic here and the one thing everyone can agree on is that this man is a legend. Dr. Boone is extremely hard, and takes personal offense if you do not understand the concepts. Be prepared to live in your textbook and do what it takes to pass.
