Dr. G is a queen. Beyonce would bow down to her. She will help you with whatever you need, as long as you go to her, because she doesn't have time to seek you out on missinglate assignments (although, she probably will). She truly cares, which is rare in college professors. Honestly, her class was one of the hardest I've ever had, but so worth it!

Dr. G is the best teacher I have ever had. She is demanding and has high expectations but she knows what she is talking about. She is passionate about what she does and if you work hard and ask questions you will learn so much. She is amazing (and has come out of retirement twice).

I had Giovino for Strategies in Reading Instruction.If you ever have Giovino for a class,never miss a class or you will fall behind.Her comments on lesson plans were rarely helpful,often simply a?She isn't an easy professor and you have to pay attention in her class if you wish to do well.And become a friend of your laptop,everything must be typed.

I had a learning disabilities class way back in the 70's with Dr. G.- 30 years later I am still using what I learned from her in my classroom. Best teacher I ever had, undergrad or graduate. Take her class, do the work- you will be glad you did.

Dr. G will make you work your butt off in this course, but you will be SO glad that you did, because the material you learn in this class is priceless. You will be prepared for the reading MTEL and most importantly will be prepared to teach reding. It can be hard to keep up with the notes, but she is very helpful! Great Class!!

If you TRULY want to learn, you must study with her. Very hard, but worth it. You will have total understanding of the material. She makes sure of it. Entire class passed the course and the Found. of Read. Test.(high scores)

She is a great teacher. I learned so much from her. I was ready to drop the class when I first started with her but I needed the class. I am so gald that I did not drop it. I have retained so much knowledge from that class.I wish I had another with her.

ONe of the most demanding teachers yet one of the best at FSC. Knows her content; shares useful materials; is fair; is able to communicate directly and clearly. Highly recommended if you are willing to work to learn.
