Comment:

Gwynn is a really great teacher. I was unsure of how I would like this class but I enjoyed it and learned A LOT from his class. There were two papers and two major test. There was also quizzes after every reading. Quizzes were detailed. Test were hard. He has an easy grading rubric for the papers. Respect is a big thing with him!!

Tests very hard: don't go by review sheets, study everything. A little scatterbrain you may expect from a poet: hard to take notes and everything he says may be on test. Go to class and do all the reading, as daily quizzes are easy. Very accessible in office, strongly suggest visits.

I took him for poetry any. in summer school and it sucked. I missed class twice and each time when I came back I was so lost and he didnt care to explain. If you are not a english major you better off. Class was long and boring. Test are nothing like what you study for. Papers and assignments are made clear so you will struggle and cry everyday!!

I LOVE MR. GWYNN! He is one of the best profs at Lamar. I had never written a real research paper when I entered his class; I came out writting better than I have in years. Strict to MLA, tests were short essay, essay, and identity quotes. Easy multiple choice reading quizzes. You work, but it's worth it. Wonderful, interesting lecturer. GREAT!

I have taken two of his classes, and I owe him a great deal. I was very unsure of myself when I began his class, but he helped me to overcome this and encouraged me to write. If you take his workshops be sure to write nothing personal (but this applies to all workshops). He will work many extra hours helping those who want to be helped.
