Dr. Brake is very good at her job. Not only is she very knowledgeable about the topic but she can easily help you understand it. She lectures every class for the entire period, but before each test she gives out a study guide which is the test word for word, so fill that out and you'll get an A no problem. Don't buy the book, you won't need it.

Dr. Brake is the best professor the ISU offers, If you do not get along with her then the fault is within yourself, be ready to study, and do not skip class. She lets you know what to expect on the tests. She is awesome!

Dr. Brake has been the BEST professor I have ever had in college. I was able to thrive due to her help and tutelage. She genuinely cares about her students and will do everything she can for them. If you have the opportunity to take classes with her seize the opportunity. You will benefit both academically and personally!

Dr. Brake is a good teacher, but in the lower-level envi-sci classes, she makes it clear that the only students she cares about at all are the geoscience students. She won't even give the time of day to a student not in her department.

She taught the material well but she is EVIL! I swear she tries to make people fail. The only grades we got were 4 hard test so study up! I took it as a gen. ed class but I would only take it if I were a Geology major. Some of it was interesting but she's mean.

Just do yourself a favor and stay away from this woman. True, all her classes are cake, but she's a very hateful and spiteful woman. I would STRONGLY suggest taking Tony Rathburn for this class instead.

She was awesome. One of the easiest classes I've ever taken. She tells you what to write in your notes. She give you a study guide that is straight from the notes. and the test is straight from the study guide. If you can't get a good grade in this class you must have been asleep the whole time.

I absolutely adore this woman! She's so intelligent and such a sweetheart! She is also very passionate for her field and will say anything to convince her prize students in her classes who AREN'T geology majors to become geology majors...hey, she convinced me to minor! HAHA! I HIGHLY recommend! I look forward to more classes with her!

Like someone else wrote don't bother with the book if you are low on cash. Her notes cover everything. But she is really serious and gets pissed if you talk during lecture or if your phone goes off. She also never let class out early and had a bad habit of lecturing past the time of dismissal. Basically if you get all the notes and study it's fine

She's NOT nice...AT ALL! But she's a great teacher. You don't need the book...I never used it. Her notes are the best notes from any class I've ever taken. Test questions and answers come directly from the notes which she writes on the board making it easy for her not to go too fast.

Don't ever let your cell phone ring in this woman's class. She'll get you for it. Other than that, very nice, very helpful and probably the easist class I took. Straight forward notes, and study guides. My book collected dust.
