Comment:
Dr. Meggert is a sweet person, but most of this class was throwaway. She required her own book for what amounted to an hour's worth of class time. Way to boost those sales! I would avoid.

She seems to play favorites. If she likes you then almost anything you do will be interpreted as acceptable. She will grade accordingly. If you happen to cross her or get not buy into HER way of doing things, including the rigid way to sit in a chair, well, you are screwed. The class does have some valid material, but the grading is questionable.

She just isn't in it... her syllabus is always wrong and she blames her TA, she is defensive, she teaches as though her way is the only correct way to counsel and doesn't explain it is only a theory, she also grades much harder than you would expect from her minimal feedback on assignments.

Comment:
Generally unimpressive. She doesn't seem enthusiastic about the class or material. The artificial position she makes students sit in is uncomfortable and inauthentic. She interrupts practice sessions.

I'm being honest- I almost quit Antioch after taking this class with her. She was my worst instructor of all time. She put all her attention on appearance when doing sessions- we actually had a 'right way' to sit in a chair! very inauthentic!

Very enthusiastic, very experienced. Managed to take a fairly boring topic (for me, anyway) and make it fun. Experientials were fantastic. I learned a lot in this class.

Slow a bit at first, but if you are not judgemental and get to see her for what she is, you will see an experienced professional, and a very kind person.

Comment:
very bad for communication and counseling skills - very boring for career counseling - suggest you sign up for someone else for counseling skills because you will need them later on and you don't get them at all from this prof.
