Before selecting this class, please notice his class is fully online, except for the exams and group presentations, which u need to come to class. Online classes are clear most of time with 3 or 4 chapters are unclear(I read book for these chapters), no multiple choice in exam, and final is cumulative (12 chapters).

This professor is well know how to teach, however the subject itself is harsh. So, you have to study really hard, and well know all the concepts behind. And there was no MCQ exam, so get ready to know all the steps for come up your answers.

Comment:

This was the second time I took Prof. Chu's class. I found the way he taught made me comfortable. He had the magic that made things simpler and more easily to understand. I love his lectures and if he taught the courses that I need to finish my degree, I would definitely choose him again.

Get ready to read and practice as much as you can. He's materials are difficult and there's no multiple choice question on the exam. You definitely need to consider twice before choosing him!

This course is very hard and you're going to have to put in a lot of work, regardless of who is your professor. Prof. Chu is a really nice guy and professor. He provides you with plenty of practice questions and gives you an idea of what to expect on his tests (doesn't really matter too much because the material is hard). Final is cumulative :(

Best fin acc prof. Great person. Pay attention, or even better, record his lectures & take notes later if you really want to learn/get an A. Study hard because some review questions are a bit tweaked on test for those more ambitious. For B, I would say just understand/know how to solve problems from review on your own & do the math right on test.

Comment:

Fin 3100 is as tough as cost, prof doesn't do multi-choice so in a sense the test are harder, however he gives you different versions of the same questions to practice ahead of time. Study 20 + hours a week if you want an A no matter your prof. You can't do better than Chu, he's a very good acc prof with a dirty old man sense of humor.

tests are very difficult and long. He does not go over the exam after the test. You have to make an office appointment with him. But usually, there are a lot of students want to see him. So you gotta wait for a few days.

Taken this class is summer with Prof. Chu was definitely not a good idea. His lectures are heavy and the tests are very hard and long. The grading is kind of weird and you don't have enough time to check your tests as he only allows you 20 secs to go over it. Apparently he gives the same test every semester so many students take advantage of it.

Took him for summer. Exams are not MCs. Need to know a lot of material and read a lot. Tests are long, you have to write your solutions. 2 midterm and one final. the final is cumulative and it's 40% of the total grade. Think carefully.

Long answer: if you are shopping for an enjoyable experience, a professor who cares for his course, a competitive environment, and just a great atmosphere for an accounting course, do yourself a favor a get in Chu's class without thinking for too long. Short answer: take his class.

test is heavy, however i understood how to solve every single questions, but it is an earlier morning class, he gave you 7 questions and make you confuse what steps he wants you to write down on the exam, he wants you work like a copy machine, i feel i am not learning from him, i can learn more if i spend time do hws back of the book by myself.

Hes not that great. Goes over hw problems in class but pulls the questions out of thin air and tells us he will make us cry literally. Once he doesnt like you thats it for your grade. For a professional class, hes not the least bit professional and you can easily tell.

His exam is based on the homework but it is much harder than that. Make sure you study and understand consolidated financial statement - he will give you that for the every midterm and final. Don't skip the lecture - his lecture is actually pretty good, better than any other professor. But, just keep in mind that exam is not that easy as you think
