Worst teacher I've ever had. Rambles all over the place, makes no sense, singles out students randomly, asks personal questions, makes strange comments to students in from of the class, weird body language, gets frustrated easily when questions are asked, overall a useless class in which I learned nothing relevant.

Misunderstood. I abhorred him at first, even left class once due to anxiety. I now like Father Rowntree. All you have to do is read Everything he assigns. Dude is a maniac. He quizzes daily. There is no discussion in class. You do not learn how to think in this class you merely learn to regurgitate what he has said in class. Notes are scattered just like his ideas. I advise you to run as far as you possibly can from his class.

VERY boring. Quizzes are every day right when class starts so you always have to be on time and do the homework, but it can be easy to make an A if you just keep up. He is totally scatterbrained and doesn't ever seem to get to the point. He doesn't allow discussion and is pretty close minded. Don't take him if you can help it!!!

So I really thought I was going to enjoy Philosophy, but when he quizes at the begining of EVERY SINGLE CLASS it will drive you crazy. When he speakes and writes on the board, half the time he is all over the place not staying on one topic. I would not take him if you dont have to. He does let you rewrite papers, but his test are essay questions.

His class is extremely easy if one can stand it. Rowntree only ever teaches Aristotle and Aristotelian ideas. Is not open for discussions or debates. The class doesn't teach you how to think it teaches you how to blandly agree with someone.

Social justice. I thought this would be a philosophy class, it turned out to be an economics class with a strong judeo-christian foundation. I feel how I imagine students in Germany probably felt when being taught about their Aryan superiority in the 1930's. Absolute bs.

Fr. Rowntree has a great love for the Lord and is a very compassionate and understanding teacher. I would recommend him to anyone and would take any of his classes again.

He is very confusing and if you do not tell him what he wants to hear in a paper he will give you a bad grade and refuse to explain,rather tries and makes it more confusing. He tries to push religon in it and goes off on tangents that make no sense. horrible

He probably didn't even grade our stuff. Extremely bias and if he doesn't like you expect no higher than a B in the class. He had several classes and some how found enough time to grade all the finals in one day. He also is extremely random in his lecturing and goes on crazy tangents. Not Good.

The class was interesting but EVERY night you have HW that has to be typed and handed in, most are 2 pgs long and only worth 3 or 4 points, its a waste!but he has good attendace policy, up to 6 or 7 abseces, but he jumps around way to much and just writes on the board 4ever

Probably the worst teacher I've ever had my entire life. I had done poorly on one of the essays he makes you write in class and I went to go and talk to him to see how I could have done better. He told me "You couldn't have written a better paper." I got a C on it.

Rowntree is an interesting teacher. Some people in my class found him very hard to follow; I did not. I'll admit, he jumps around some, but if you pay attention, I think he really does make sense. He gives a lot of short homeworks.
