Nice guy and good professor. Pretty fair grader but definitely grades papers and other written assignments a little on the harsh side (not too bad though). However, quizzes and other assignments boost your grade significantly and participation helps A LOT! Overall, wasn't too bad of a class and A's are possible. Try not to skip class too often.

Dr. Myers is a really solid guy- in lecture, even his teaching style is an art form, almost like poetry. He has a real gift in English and a remarkable concern that each student succeeds. If you put in real effort, you will do well, and like any class, the more interested you are (and really try!) the better you will do.

He's a literary genius who wants to see you succeed if you put in the effort. Makes class enjoyable w/ combo of lecture and class discussions. You need the books for the readings. He believed in me and was the reason I did not transfer out of DSU or give up on my dreams. He's helpful and pushes you to see you succeed. Quizzes get specific but fair

This man gets the craziest interpretations from the readings. Everything about the class was boring. He was not much help. Tests felt like they were subjective- on his part... if you didn't interpret the way he did, you were wrong. I never did this bad in a general education class, IN MY LIFE.

I took Professor Myers for Intro to Poetry (online class). It was only 6 weeks so the course consisted of 4 papers and a test. He definitely makes you work for your grade. He was very helpful and pushes you to do better. I highly recommend him

Dr. Myers is the best professor I have had. You will have to do some reading, but it's not lots of reading. Likes class participation and you putting forth effort. Has favorites, if you participate. His lectures are very interesting and engaging. Very approachable and gives good help with papers etc. Fair grader. Had for intro poetry too

He is so passionate and it is clear that he loves what he is doing. He goes out of his way to help his student and encourage them -- especially students who aren't English majors. If he sees talent in any of his students, he wants to foster it.

Dr. Myers has to be my favorite professor on campus. He epitomizes what it means to be a great teacher. He is a great representation of what DeSales should stand for. I have taken 3 classes with him and they have all be enjoyable. You definitely have to work in his class but that is a good thing. He's the best DeSales has.

I had Dr. Myers way back in the Spring of 1992. I remember getting a D on my first paper. It was a wake-up call. We need more teachers and professors (like Dr. Myers) who are willing to set and maintain a fair grading standard.
