Comment:
Susan's class/exams are easy. She is approachable and easy to make an appointment with. However, her class can be very dry as it only focuses on class discussion. Also, she ALWAYS drags the whole class for 5-15 minutes!! And the scholarly paper was graded toughly, which drastically pulled everyone's marks down.

Comment:
Susan likes to engage the class in full-class discussions or group discussions. There is very little learned in her lecture except what everyone's stance is. Focus on ATI text instead of the textbook for extra detail. Not hard, but it's not a cake walk. Hint: takes q's from the textbook and puts a variation of it in her exams.

Comment:
As a clinical instructor, Susan was very laid back. She was often late to meeting locations. Susan wants everyone to speak so if you have something to say, say it right away so she doesn't directly ask you a question you're not prepared for. Do all the Learning Activities bc she always goes through every one so don't slack. Susan loves nature.

Susan is really nice, &meaningful discussions happen in her class. However, the turn over time for assignments/papers is unacceptable. We handed in our first assignment in January, and didn't see it until March. We didn't receive our scholarly papers, worth 25% back before our last day of classes so we don't know our marks before the final exam.

Picked on almost everyone in her clinical group. If you are a quiet or shy person, get ready to be singled out and put on the spot. Will reject/dismiss what you say (even if you are right) if she doesn't like you. Another person said the same thing but didnt get the same treatment. TL;DR I dunt like her

Susan acts professionally at all times. She is serious, but nice. She encourages people to share their thoughts about the topic. Sometimes, you feel like you're being put "on the spot" but hey, it's not intentional at all. It actually helps you to think and respond right at that moment. Exams are pretty straight-forwarded. Can be a hard marker.

Comment:
Susan has a calm, gentle demeanor, which is great. She does tend to speak in a bit of a monotone, which can get a bit dry by the 2nd hour of class. She does take some interesting approaches to health and we had a fun experience when learning about early childhood health. Her assignments are reasonable and it's not difficult to do well on her tests.

The WORST teacher I have ever had. She is extremely self-absorbed, rude and obnoxious. She is disliked by students, faculty, RNs, and MDs alike. I didn't find her knowledgeable at ALL; she never gave me a straight answer to any question I asked, and when she did answer, her info was too outdated to be taken seriously anyway. AVOID!!

She was my clinical instructor. If she likes you she will help you otherwise she like to intimidate. She was not helpful to me in the clinical setting and she made it difficult for me to wake up on clinical days and go to class ... and I really like clinical.

With Susan the saying "still waters run deep" - she has a lot to teach and is serious about it. In my opinion she's one of the finest Langara has to offer - please just (sorry but,) ____ __ and listen!!

Not the most interesting however she is a good instructor. Can be too limiting in what she lets her students do in the hospital. Not as bad as people say she is!

Horrible teacher borring and can't take a hint that the whole class wants to leave. Drags the class on and on. She talks in a monotone voice and you don't end up learning anything from her class.
