One of my favorite Calvin professors. I had her for environmental lit which was insightful, wise, and worldview shaping (I know, Calvin terminology). I was the only freshman in her class and she went way out of her way to schedule meetings to ensure I was doing well adjusting. She's enchanting and reminds me of a fairy godmother.

She will make you work pretty hard. Don't take her if you procrastinate or can't stay on top of the readings. BUT if you do, you will love it. I hate lit and english classes but loved hers. One of the best profs I've had at Calvin.

Felch is my favorite prof at Calvin. She is passionate about literature. She is funny and realistic. I suggest taking her Environmental Lit 230 class. It has been my favorite class so far. The class was fairly easy and she made writing fun.

Downright cutest professor ever. So nice, helpful and passionate. She bought us all pizza the last day of class. The material can be hard, but she always responds to e-mails quickly and answers any questions right away. She's the nicest woman ever and made me love the material.

I took honors so I don't know how she is to her regular classes, but she was extremely nice and helpful and as long as you listen to the comments she give you on your rough drafts she'll give u a good grade. She's pretty funny and very understanding. Great teacher.

Probably has the most reading of any of the other literature classes, but it was definitely worth it. Great Prof, and highly encourages the whole class to participate in discussion. If you work hard, an A is definitely possible!!

Great prof who loves the subject and an overall good class... but if literature isn't your thing or you want an easy "A" trust me this isn't your class. Prof treats the class as if it is the only thing you have going and the grading scale is far from easy (90 is a B). You average a book a week and its managable but you'll work to get an "A"

if you arent on top of your game DONT TAKE THIS CLASS. She doesnt teach grammar so dont expect to pass the final. No matter how much work you do (including taking your paper to her and the RC) youll never get a good grade unless youre her favorite. But she is personable, approachable and knows her stuff, she just doesnt want to teach it to you.

Be prepared to work some. Overlaps paper assignments so you are introduced to one while you are still working on another. Online assignments are annoying, but overall not a bad prof

Meh, it's nice that she skips over the grammar crap, but everything else was repetitive. Only research papers for her - if you want variety, you're outta luck; it's the same week after week. But she cares for her students and tries to make class fun.

Excellent professor. I've learned so many things about writing from her. She skips over the boring grammar excercises that other 101 profs do, and gets right to the interesting things! Uses cool books by Anne Lamott and James McBride as textbooks...
