Comment:

Only 3 exams, no study guides, and 1 group project with no grading rubric or clear instructions. I am an A student and I think I'm going to end up with a B. Prof is serious about cell phone usage yet there were people who had full on convos in class all semester and nothing was done about it. Worst class I've ever taken.

I would not take her again. Class is boring, she gets off topic very easily, she makes political comments all the time. She teaches about personality yet doesn't believe in it! Exams are curved fairly well, but still hard. One group project making a PSA video and 3 exams are the only grades. She goes over stuff in class that isn't in the book.

I don't understand how anyone can call this professor good in any respect. Literally the worst professor i've taken in my 4 years of university education. Just read the book thoroughly and you'll pass, not because of her but because you know how to read. She doesn't post her lectures, she doesn't post study guides, she doesn't do anything at all.

She really cares about her students and is always looking for student feedback. She is also passionate and knowledgeable about the subjects she teaches. She has no qualms about sharing her opinions in class; this did not bother me but it might bother some. Exams are based on both the book and the lectures, and are difficult but not unreasonably so.

There are few opportunities for grades. She has pop up quizzes and attendance would help. You will need to read the book to pass the quizzes and exams. Her class is very hard and will need to pass everything to make a good grade in her class.

A great teacher, expresses strong personal opinions depending on class (mine was psych and gender). Lectures are fun and interesting, but grading is tough/fair. It's not a prereq, but I'd suggest having Research methods 1 and 2. Got stuck with a bad group for the psych study we did, but her expectations were clearly outlined and we did well.

Dr. Walch has a very abrasive personality, but is very reasonable and helpful as long as you're making an effort. Her tests are very passable if you study. She requires you to read, she tests on a lot on things she didn't cover in lecture. Fair and knowledgable. Very funny and entertaining.

She knows her stuff and wants you to learn as much as she can teach you. Attendance isn't taken but if you don't go to her class you're asking to fail. Her lectures are so detailed you barely have to read the book. Her tests aren't easy but they aren't impossible. Show up for class, take good notes, and study. You'll be fine.

The more I got into her class the more apparent it became that Dr. Walch needed her own services! She preached the virtues of feminism and declared how liberating her divorce was. On other days she would be on the verge of a nervous breakdown because of her divorce. Every class she would bring it up and use us as her group therapy. Got old...

if you take notes & read the book you MIGHT make an B... then there are term papers which and the resources are biased...which gave me difficulty as I had other opinions. VERY LIBERAL. but overall I have learned a great deal of information! MAKE SURE YOU DO EXTRA CREDIT. I don't regret the class.but if you want an A or B+...take another teacher.

I had D. Walch for Health Psychology. She is absolutly one of the best teachers overall. I learned a lot from here...her classes are very entertaining. Most of her test come from the notes, however she will throw in question from the book, so i would read the chapters and DEFINETLY come to class ( notes can be diff. from book and what she says goes

took abnormal psy, health psy, & behavior modification with her. She is an amazing teacher! she makes things relate to real life & explains info in an understandable way. very funny, but tough teacher.
