Ted is such an amazing professor. He's really easy going and understanding. He knows film like the back of his hand and teaches in a very in depth comprehensive manner. He's hard but fair and his class requires a lot of work. As long as you pay attention and take notes, the exams are fine. No biggie. His projects require a lot of time, however.

Really great guy, but that doesn't make his class great. Expect to take a LOT of notes... Not much hand resting. You're really just writing down everything he says. First half of the semester is photography and the second is film. The film section you watch older films... a lot of silent. His tests are HARD. Be prepared for this guy.

I took his Intro to Film class and enjoyed it very much. The exams were fair and included short answer questions instead of the dreaded multiple choice questions. Basically you would make a movie and than watch everyone's projects for the next 5 days. He has a great sense of humor and is very understanding.

Took Intro to Media with Ted. Overall, it's a great class and he teaches it well. All of the already said things about his projects are generally true. They aren't very guided and his initial instruction on editing is limited (ask 4 help!). I have never had any problems approaching him for help. Exams weren't as bad as they've been made out to be.

Very strict attendance policy; I'm not sure if he sticks to it when grading. Very clear about the material on the exams; not clear at all about expectations for projects. Didn't give project grades until the end of the semester, so it was difficult to tell how I was doing... also didn't give enough constructive feedback.

He expects a ridiculous amount from students regarding exams. I am a very good student, and even after studying for almost 3 days for the midterm, I still felt unprepared. I received one of my 1st C's in college on a test on the first one he gave to the class. And I withdrew.

In animation with Ted I learned a lot and though there was sometimes a lot of work to do, he gave us plenty of time. I found him very helpful as long as you are respectful. Also took history of op media with him, and it was a non-traditional art history course that was much easier for me. No memorizing slides. and he's funny.

He wasn't the bit helpful. He is disorganized, he threw the projects in our laps and expected us to magically turn out masterpieces, even though he hardly bothered teaching us how to edit. We had one session he showed us how to sort of us imovie and that was it. I felt lost through most of the class. The class is interesting, the professor isn't.

Not very organized, never showed us how to use iMovie when he said he would and gave us a lot of projects with not enough time to complete them. His test are a bit hard too
