You'll do great in his class as long as you keep up with the homework. There are near-weekly quizzes to help boost your grade. He's really nice and helpful if you approach him. Much better than other math professors I have had!!

He is a cool guy if you get to know him. He is sweet and he really makes you think. He can be VERY confusing when teaching but if you go to his office, he is good at explaining things individually. If you are a math major, get used to him and learn to like him. Also form study groups because it definitely helps. Also his office is always a disaster

I am currently in Dences class and doing horrible he starts pulling certain things out of nowhere and you can't comprehend. Goes over things in class, but when handed homework and quizzes and test it's different. Like me if you taking a lower lvl math course DO NOT TAKE HIM. Only grades are quizzed and test. NOt helpful when asked questions.

I have had Dence for several classes because no one else was teaching the classes. HORRIBLE TEACHER. If you can avoid taking him, do it. He doesn't teach and expects you to just know everything. Quiz weekly and homework collected weekly. good luck.

He is absolutely horrible. He actually GRADES your homework so if you didn't know how to do it, then you're pretty much out of luck. He has no sympathy for anyone and is so monotone. I used to love math but I dread waking up for his class every day I have it.

He is a very hard teacher and not interested with helping anyone out.if you do not talk, then he penalizes you!his only grades are homework.if you do bad on the homework,you pretty much fail the class!there is no options to bring up your grade. either you do good on th homework and pass or you just fail his class. no talking gives u 0 participation

Horrible! He doesn't make you stay on top of things...his lectures are crap if you are not an expert in math. You will be lost the whole time if you are not good at math. DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR LOWER LEVEL COURSES!
