Comment:

Best professor in the department; you can tell he really loves his job. Does a really good job of explaining complicated concepts. Isn't always focused and often ends up off topic though. He knows so much though that you learn even when he's not talking about class material. Real stickler for grammar in papers.

For our honors section of LAS-150, he was quite arrogant and rude to many of the students. He also docked stupid things on papers just to make sure you got a lower letter grade. Also, if you try to work hard, he purposefully grades you harder. Those who tried in the class got Bs, those who stayed up all night writing got As. Will never take again!!

Loves poly sci and loves to ramble! Tough grader, make sure you format is to par. Showing interest and participating helps. And get ready for a ton of papers and reading. Overall avoid this class(way too many papers like 6 total), but good professor!

Professor Sutton is literally one of the best teachers here at BW. Besides having him for several different political science classes, he is my advisor. He is a wonderful person that is willing to help his students in any way he possibly can. If you are taking a POL class at BW, it would be a shame if you do not take one of his classes.

TO say Tom Sutton is an excellent professor real doesn't do it justice. Aside from teaching difficult concepts (stats) to POL students with understanding and clarity, is one of the most genuinely kind people that I have experienced in my academic (or otherwise) life.

Sutton is awesome. He turned what could be a very dull, dry class and turned it into an interesting, often amusing experience. The whole class felt more like a group of friends getting together to discuss politics and government and current events instead of a regular lecture. He treated us like equals and was never condesending of our opinions.

I took this class first semester-which was the hard semester for us unlucky guinea pigs. Dr. Sutton was a great teacher, who really challenged students on his essays, knew what he was talking about, and made the class interesting. I would definately recommend him!

I love Tom. He is great. I've taken him every semester since sophomore year. HE loves being a professor and loves to help. Very caring, willing to help, and knowledeable. This man is so smart. For the most part he reamains unbiased. He is fantastic, take his classes.
