Professor Galan is a caring Professor. Will like to see his students succeed and isn't afraid to help them out. Sometimes, he will get off topic but overall he is very helpful. Also, will give you extra credit/work if you need it for your grade.

He would go off topic a LOT. He writes in cursive (annoying if you dont understand). He cares for his students but his test are really hard if you are NOT good in Spanish. His test is really stressful. You just worry about the test. He cares about his students. It was hard to learn in his class. No breaks in class. He goes the full 1hr 50min..

Hes a nice professor but cant teach at all. He goes off topic and feels that hes teaching students that already know spanish. Study on your own because youll basically have to teach yourself. He goes off topic way too much and teaches you words that have NOTHING to do with the chapter youre learning.

Comment:

One of the best professors I've taken at York. He's caring and genuinely wants you to do good. He gives a lot of online homework but it is because he wants to prepare everyone for his tests. His tests are made by him and sometimes can be lengthy but he is a very lenient grader.

This was a super easy class. I didnt really do anything to pass just showed up and answered some questions. There was four test and your work on the computer lab that he didnt really care about. But be aware, his accent is very thick and he can get off topic very easily.

You can tell that he cares about his students, because he does everything that he possibly can to make sure you pass his class. You study the textbook and online homework; tests should be simple. Wont really learn much in class, so thats why the homework and textbook is so key to passing. If you dont do so hot on exams, test corrects are given.

Love this professor! He is so caring and nice, his teaching method is okay too. He won't let you fail or "die". Would take again, he was so sweet to me.

I love this professor. He does go off topic but if you know the material and actually practice 2 hours a day, it's an easy A. He is very understanding as well. I forgot to hand in homework packets and was able to give it in the next day in his mail box. His exams are a little tough if you don't speak the language so I suggest tutoring.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER !!!!!!! I barely did any work barely came to class and passed with an A just do good on the test (google translate will be your best friend in this class!)

I love this professor, he is so funny and sweet. He's good in teaching Spanish but sometimes he's unclear on his tests. Other than that he is really easy. If you fail this class you are doing something wrong.

Sitting in his class was useless. He would teach for about 30 minutes and then go off talking about something completely unrelated. He's a nice guy but gets distracted too easily. Basically take him if you want to teach yourself.

Professor Galan is a very good teacher. He explains topics well. He tried to tie in real life experiences to make the class more interesting. He is one of those professors who isnt very strict, but he does expect you to do your best! his class is super easy, and tests are fair.

He is a nice professor. Exams are not that hard even if you are learning spanish first time. Just read the chapters of book for each exam. Class notes are not that helpful in exams. I would recommend him.

He's definitely an easy A if you pay attention and review the chapters before tests. He takes attendance but it won't affect your grade. He tends to ramble on and you'll pretty much be teaching yourself. If you want a real Spanish class experience, look for someone else. Open book tests are easy to come by

had for both 101 and 102. He's friendly, warm and engaging. He moves through the textbook fairly quickly so you better keep up. He doesn't check the homework and going to the lab is sporadic which is a good or bad thing. Grades fair enough.

He's an excellent professor. He's a very nice person and willing to help you. I would say he's more then fair grader. It makes me sad that semester is over already! Highly recommend him. I am glad I had him as my professor.

Prof.Galan is very helpful, his class is very easy, he's funny and keeps you interested in the subject. He's kind of disorganized but he means well. Definitely take his class.
