Comment:
I went to class for the first half of the semester and got a really awful grade on the first exam. The second half of the semester, I stopped going to lecture and got a better grade on the rest of my exams. That said, the course itself isn't terrible, just go to discussion and SI and you'll be fine. (I didn't go to SI, thus my grade.)

If you have taken calc BC or even AB in highschool and you can learn easily, i HIGHLY recommend taking this course. As long as you can do his previous exams that he posts, tests will be very very easy. Barely any hw and you get unlimited try's! if you havent had any exposure to calc, do NOT take this course unless you prefer teaching yourself calc

Victor truly accommodates for students because he wants to see you succeed, he has done that countless times for me this semester. If you are looking for Calculus credit and you can understand the basic fundamentals algebra/are willing to put in a few extra hours studying practice exams, this class wont prove to be too hard for you.

I only go to his lectures so I know what section and chapter we are learning. The lecture is pointless otherwise. He does not seem to know how tonexplain things and his thought process on how to get the right answer. He goes off on tangents too. Go to discussion and do all the practice exams. I am in his class now and I am teaching myself.

Had tried AP Calc in high school, drowned quickly. Had his Calc class my first semester and flew through. Vic's a really nice guy, and VERY understanding if you talk to him. The class goes nicely if you actually pay attention in lecture. Having a good TA does wonders too. He even canceled class the day the Cubs won the World Series, just because!

Vic is a really nice guy. He may not be considered the best professor, but isn't nearly as bad as everyone is making him out to be. If you're even halfway decent at math, you'll be fine in his class. He does helpful practice problems during lecture and his practice tests are almost identical to the exams.

Vic is an interesting guy. He's very nice, but a little shaky in teaching. He just seems to struggle in explaining what he is thinking, especially in some of the more difficult aspects of the class. You'll learn a lot from the TA's so I wouldn't worry too much, and high school calc experience will be very helpful.

There's literally no point in watching his lectures, they make no sense and it's impossible to follow along. Go to the math lab and get help from the tutors there. Don't only rely on the practice exams he gives, they're helpful but he also throws curve balls. Be prepared for anything. Great guy though and very funny though

Don't get me wrong, Vic is really a great guy. He's just not a great professor. You'll definitely pass with flying colors if you took calculus in high school. If you have not, be sure to study hard and to utilize the amazing TAs that run the discussion sessions. Most effective way to study- use practice exams; the ones you'll take are very similar.

If you're taking calc for bus, take it with victor. All tests are open book and open note and he gives out similar practice tests to the real tests. He's not the best actual teacher but hes not awful and his class is set up much easier than the bigger calc for bus classes. your grade is determined by 4 tests but your quiz scores can help at the end

Felt like nothing was ever accomplished during lectures. I took calc before I came here and still struggled in this class. Not a very good teacher, but funny guy. Wish he was as good at teaching math as he was making jokes about engineers. Try to get a different professor, especially if you've never taken calculus before.

Each exam taken with Victor had some kind of mistake or error. Grade is determined by 4 exams. During the exams he allows everyone to leave randomly to go to the bathroom, didn't really care if people were talking during it. So take advantage of that, exams are exactly like the practice exams. Like exactly, so memorize and learn those.

Just no! The math department needs a makeover and this starts with camillo! The class isn't difficult, but if you have never taken a calculus class before, it will be more challenging. He won't teach you a thing.

I look this class straight out of high school. I had no calc experiences before. It was alot of hard work, but received an A. His lectures are honestly not that great though. His examples are sloppy and often makes mistakes. HOWEVER, he is very sweet and available during office hours. Go to your discussion section! It will save your life.

Professor Camillo is an awesome person, makes the best jokes and loves to talk about baseball. While this is wonderful, his lectures are mostly challenging examples written out on copy paper that are hard to read from the lecture screen. If you need a few simple examples I would suggest SI or tutoring because you probably wont get them from Vic.

Professor Camillo is a joke. He is very unorganized in his note, hard to understand, and treats lectures as a joke. I stopped going after a month and ended up with an A. Just go to discussions and you will be fine. Don't waste your time going to his lectures.
