Grades are two exams, two papers (4 pages each). Very easy to succeed if you are even remotely interested in international law. Teacher is very kind and easy to find outside of class.

Professor Brown is very kind, understanding, and knowledgable about IP. The class is primarily lecture based, and test questions are pulled directly from notes. She lectures without a powerpoint. The class consisted of two multiple choice tests (she gives a study guide) and current event style writing assignments. Her lectures were very engaging.

Don't skip class. She takes attendance every lecture and her tests are based off of her rambles. She knows what she's talking about, so sometimes she just sounds like a machine but you can stop her at any time to clarify any confusion. She also responds to emails pretty quickly. Her tests are difficult but the curve saves everyone. She means well

Great professor! extremely knowledgable about her topics. She does not use a text book and tests are straight from what she says in lecture so it is really important to go to class. Goes out of her way to make sure you understand everything.

Her class is made up of 2 tests (45% each and 10% for attendance). Lectures are super interesting, but you have to be able to keep up since she doesn't allow laptops and her tests have many small details that she mentions in class. Overall tests are hard, but the curve she implements is the absolute bless. Funny and quick witted lady. Def take!!

An engaging and knowledgeable speaker. Sometimes goes off on tangents but material is ultimately related to class. I wish that she made the grading structure of the course clearer and that more regular graded assignments were given out. Attendance essentially mandatory as her lectures are exam material. Very caring about her students. Recommended.

She's really nice. Go to her office hours and she will be more than helpful and will remember your face. Here class isn't too difficult, just pay attention to what she says in the lectures because that's what's on the exams. She doesn't use power points so you cant copy anything, so get some sleep before going to her class, it can get boring.

Virginia is an awesome professor and person. She gives very interesting lectures and really makes you think about controversial and timely topics you may never have questioned. Class is very important as her tests are largely based on little things she lectures about. Can get off track sometimes in lectures but ultimately cares about her students!

One of the most influential professors I've had in all my time at Bing. Extremely smart. Learn from the lectures. Tests are based on what she talks about at lecture. Sit in the front row, shut up, and listen.

Talks about whatever she wants for the majority of the class, readings have nothing to do with the course. She is very informed, but would rather express her opinion or talk about the news than teach. If this class was 100% participation, it would be great. But the two tests are basically facts chosen at random from her rants.

Comment:
Very liberal but very open to debate. Be prepared to read/ go to discussion because in lectures she will spend most of her time debating with students, discussing current events or burying useful information in a long speech of otherwise useless knowledge. Lecture isn't useless but you will need to read and study to get all the information.

Comment:
Agree with the previous comment, she's is a very opinionated liberal and you clearly know where she stands (no innuendo). However, she will not penalize because of your opinion and she welcomes debate. I'm the political opposite of her and I actually enjoyed talking with her, even out of class. Intelligent professor, knows the subject well.

She welcomes all opinions in class so im not sure what these other people are talking about. while she does have her own opinions she never forces or expects anyone to follow them. Overall the class is great. Shes extremely helpful and is always there if you need help with clarification. She is always quick to respond. I would definatly recommend.

Take her class if you actually want to learn something. Brown makes the subject interesting, and easy to listen to. This isn't the type of class where you just memorize notes, she actually wants students to understand ideas. She can be very opinionated; but unless you are extremely radical I doubt you will find it to be offensive.

because she's very scatterbrain during lectures its almost impossible to tell what is fair game for the tests. she used the class as a platform for conveying her political views/opinions and then tested us on them as if they were fact.

Professor Brown is a truly wonderful teacher. She knows a lot about law, being that she was a lawyer, and really loves relaying what she knows to you. The reading are there to reinforce what she teaches in class, as long as you take notes you'll do great on the tests.
