Wilf is great! His website is the most useful of any teacher in this school. If you do his worksheets you'll ace the tests as they are always very similar questions. Don't by text you wont need it or use it.

DO NOT buy the textbook, all practice questions are online. Does a thorough job explaining things. Yes he is usually late and keeps going past the end of class but its only for a couple of mins and its not like he made me late for any other class.

I read the reviews on here before taking Wilf so I was a little worried. I quite liked him, yes he was boring and sometimes didn't explain things very clearly, but his notes and homework were organized and made sense, and the tests perfectly reflected the notes making this course an easy A. I think he's much better then these reviews would suggest.

Comment:

Wilf explains things well and readily answer questions. He?s late to almost every class by 5-10mins and holds the class overtime to make up for it. Didn?t finish the material. He is unforgiving with marks. It seemed if you completely mess up a question, you?ll get more marks than doing it right and getting the wrong answer.

Wilf was a great instructor to have. I took PHYS 11 and 12 in high school so this is all recap for me. If someone hadn't taken those courses before, then he is great since he covers the material slow enough to understand. The one downside is that the answers on his handouts are often wrong and you'll go nuts trying to find out where YOU went wrong.

Wilf makes leaps that are sometimes difficult to follow from day to day. He is inconsistent with marking and will often round calculations regardless of convention. For labs, give him the answer he wants. He will mark your lab poorly if numbers do not match his, even if the experiment was riddled with faulty equipment or bad procedures.

Wilf seems to really know his stuff but fails to show that he is passionate about the material, which makes it harder to be engaged. He speaks very quietly and flies through examples without properly explaining how he got to the result. He's a sweet man and I think his intentions are good, but he doesn't seem like he wants to be there.

Wilf know his material very well.. definetly dont' buy the textbook. He makes class interting with demonstrations and makes a very basic physics a little interesting. obviously a very smart man.. i think after teaching people about vectors when you have a phd in physics might get a little mundane..

I was lost in the class. He had lots of handouts to help us out and was available for questions but I just didn't understanad the material or the lectures. I never felt prepared for the tests. A nice guy though.

Can be a good teacher, but he writes down a question on the board and finnishes it for you before you can even write it down. Try spending over a month on Sci Notation, when you learnt it in grade 7, and the confusing stuff the last 2 weeks before the final.. makes no sence.

Course Materials: $100+ textbook. Amount this text was used or even mentioned in class? Not at all. My binder is absolutely full of crappy handouts the guy photocopies everyday though. Other than this Wilf is an average to below average physics teacher in my opinion.

No passion for what he teaches, even physics can be made exciting but not by this guy. Monotone voice is a great way to get some extra sleep in class. Try getting this guy to answer a simple question, you'll get a long answer so boring you'll regret asking the question in the first place.
