I really loved Ling! She does make a very serious point about the impact we have on the world and a lot of people feel that she's too negative but I see it in the complete opposite way. She cares so much about everyone in her class and it shows. I would recommend her class if you're ready to challenge your ego.

Overall a somewhat easy class, no homework, but a lot of group reading project, she have problem controlling her emotions in class, she can not stop using f-word and the s-word. Some of the lessons are miss-leading for example climate change, MSG Usage, I suggest do your research before taking and believing everything this professor say

I cant say how amazing Ling truly is. Hands down my favorite professor so far. She is kind and compassionate. She will open your eyes about a lot of issues going on in the world and how they all interact with each other.

Shes very rude and one of the worst professors I ever had to deal with. Just a heads up, she grades attendance. If your late even for legit reasons it WILL HURT YOUR GRADE. She also assigns quizzes in the beginning of class, so make sure to do well on those!! Your lab is basically reading articles with a group. Choose your group members WISELY!!

She is rude and inconsiderate. I agree with the last comment. When you ask for help, she refused to offer assistance. She will yell at you across the class and make you look like an idiot. She has an attitude. Need to file a complaint against her and report to the dean. She is the worse professor.

if you have a question she does not help you, instead she gives you a look and tells you to talk to your group members even though the reason we asked for her help is because none of us understands! she is one of the worst professors out there and she definitely does not grade easily either, her grading makes no sense.

There is no textbook in this class. You have nothing to study with for midterm and final. Mainly group work. All reading published on canvas. No homework. Students may struggle lack of study materials. Good luck.

Avoid if possible. Groupwork is 90% of your grade, and usually you will be grouped with idiots/lazies. Be prepared to actually WORK (it's not hard work, but she nitpicks at EVERYTHING you submit). Does not teach. Not encouraging at all. Will not hesitate to call you an idiot if you disagree with the political agenda she pushes on the class.

She spends the entire semester stressing how taking care of yourself is taking care of the environment, so she focuses a lot on nutrition and stuff. Really humble professor. LOTS of group work. No homework, easy finals. I recommend if you're just taking the class to complete requirements, but not if you're an environmental science major.

Lots of pop quizzes during the beginning of class that count toward your final grade. If you're not there on time, you're most likely, gonna get a zero. Grade is also dependent on lots of group projects throughout the semester. She might call on you randomly to answer questions. Overall, you should get a good grade as long as you attend every class

One of the easiest classes I've ever taken but also I did the most work in this class than any other. Your grade is heavily influenced by group assignments through canvas. They're really easy but they take a while to get through. Make sure you show up, do well on those assignments and the tests will be cakewalks that won't have to study for.

Ling is by far the best professor Ive had the honor of meeting at PCC. She is a talented professor, and authentically kind and relevant. The material I learned in her class will stick with me for the rest of my life, as it is not often covered in typical ES classes. We learn about the truth of the world we live in and food we eat. TAKE THIS CLASS

class is a midterm/ final (30% each) and a ton of quizzes and assignments everyday. she basically gives you the answers and everything is in groups. if you miss class you get a 0 for the day so dont miss. she is very passionate about the topic so lectures can be somewhat manipulating and biased but is a good professor and cares about her students

I took her class spring'17, she was such an inspirational teacher and she helps us to develop our understanding on the environment. This class is worth taking as it gives you so many useful information that you can actually apply to daily life. Most of the work is group work, no homework class, and only 2 exams.

This is one of the worst classes I have EVER taken at PCC. Each class starts with a quiz with random yet very specific questions from the "lecture" from the class before. She proceeds to "lecture" by playing long boring videos or have us read articles all from questionable sources. the class is easy for the most part but shes just rude and annoying

She LOVES dropping "truth bombs" and it seems like she thrives on the crushing silence of the class after she makes cringy "woke" statements. Everyday has computer lab and group work. Group work will bury you if you unknowingly team with idiots. Get ready to be indoctrinated, not educated.

Dr. Ling is an absolute gem. Grades based on attendance quizzes, in-class labs, and 2 exams. 1 term project and 1 one-page paper (double-spaced). She doesn't make it a hostile environment, it may seem that way if your on your phone during a lecture, but i mean DUH. Very eye opening class, some awkward silences but take it to absorb the information

Incredibly inspirational, eye opening. You'll learn your part in the destruction of the world and how you can change. It's an easy A, but is a very engaging class. Hopefully, it will teach you to learn rather than be on autopilot. If you have bad social anxiety though I wouldn't take it. She might call you out for seeming unengaged.

She is an absolutely amazing professor! She does not teach methodology or theory or practicality, but instead, teaches the reality of the world in which we live in. She is capable of opening up the eyes of so many of her students to what is, and to what we choose to turn away from. Class way, no book necessary, group participation necessary.

Ling emphasizes on the changes of the environment. Instead of the classic text book lectures, she gives insight and eye open truth and facts to the people in her class. She is very passionate and loving, and it is because she cares it may appear as if she is harsh, take her, your life will never be the same.
